U.S. Forest Service begins seasonal hiring

The Rocky Mountain Region of the U.S. Forest Service is hiring temporary employees for various positions across 17 national forests and seven national grasslands in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming.

Temporary positions are available in a variety of occupations such as: trails, forestry, engineering, wildlife, recreation, fisheries, archeology and administrative support. The hiring phase will be Feb. 2-8, 2016 for seasonal, non-fire positions.

The San Juan National Forest will advertise approximately 29 temporary positions including hydrologic technicians, noxious weeds, range, recreation, wilderness/trails, timber, engineering equipment operator helper, park ranger, and motor vehicle operator.

The Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forest will advertise approximately 42 temporary positions, and the Rio Grande National Forest will advertise approximately 13 temporary positions.
