On July 4, Anchorage, Alaska had its highest temperature ever recorded.

Evidence continues to mount regarding the devastating effects of climate change.

Our president calls climate change a hoax. Trump is untruthful regarding so many things that it is difficult to know if he really believes this or simply lacks the courage and decency to make difficult decisions to deal with our rapidly changing climate.

In addition, our state senator, Don Coram, in his campaign, when asked about climate change, told a foolish joke about a car and the Anasazi leaving the Four Corners region. It is inexcusable that Coram treats such a critical issue as a laughing matter.

If we care about future generations we should demand that politicians discuss climate change in an intelligent and informed manner.
