The driver of a pickup that ended up under the walkway heading into Southwest Memorial Hospital was checked out in the emergency room and then released. The truck hit two parked cars in the parking lot about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, ran over a handicap sign, then took out one brick pillar before coming to a stop after hitting a second pillar. No one was in the wheelchair that was crushed under the front of the truck.
