Recreational soccer makes return after hiatus

Shortly after the snow melts on the fields at Parque de Vida, the excited cheers of parents and children alike will return to the soccer pitch. After a break from action, Tri-City Soccer Association makes a triumphant return to provide families of young children the chance to get back into the game.

A sturdy effort by a number of community members has brought Tri-City back to life, and now the organization is excited for the new season.

Announcing the return of a 2023 spring season, Tri-City – Cortez, Mancos and Dolores – is looking for families interested in signing up for the upcoming season, April 10 through May 19.

Offering levels for U4, U6, U8, U10, and U12, the league is welcoming players of all skill levels born between 2011 and 2020 to the action.

Practices and games will be held twice each week Monday through Thursday, with a focus on learning the game and having fun – while learning skills of teamwork, along with the foundational skills of soccer. Games and practices will run 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., making the association a great after-school outlet for any interested boys and girls.

Registration is available on tricitysoccer.com with early registration running through the end of February – the cost is $45 per player. Late registration goes from March 1-13, with the registration during that period costing $50 per player. Uniforms are included in the cost of registration.

The Tri-City Soccer Association has a Facebook page as well, providing updates related to the latest news about the league. The league is looking for volunteers, including those who might be interested in coaching this spring, with training for new coaches, while also offering reimbursement for coaches who complete the season.
