Thunderstorms possible this week, but little rain expected

Hot, dry and windy conditions will increase fire danger
The National Weather Service is calling for thunderstorms but not much rain Wednesday and through the weekend.

Thunderstorms are expected to roll through Southwest Colorado this week and into the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

There is 30 to 50 percent chance of thunderstorms Wednesday, said Ben Moyer, a meteorologist at the NWS.

However, not much moisture is expected. The thunderstorms will consist of gusts of wind and lightning, according to the NWS.

Thursday will see the most dangerous fire conditions, a result of hot, dry and windy weather.

There is also a chance of scattered thunderstorms Saturday and Sunday.
