Thank You Letter Thanks for the Valentine’s Day support

Sweetheart Ball a success

The Cortez Cultural Center had its annual Sweetheart Ball on Valentine’s Day, Saturday, Feb. 14 at The Baymont Inn & Suites in Cortez.

The theme this year was Savory & Sweet, and the fare was appetizers, desserts and drinks from local restaurants in Cortez, Mancos and Dolores.

The Hospitality Suites served as the bar, the silent auction area and the photographers’ studio for the evening. The dining room was transformed into a club atmosphere – strung with pink lights and populated with pink and white cafe tables crowded around the dance floor. Three fabulous, over-sized lamps illuminated the dancers and the two wonderful bands who played all evening.

The event was the annual fundraiser for The Cortez Cultural Center, and the money raised will go towards supporting the programs that reflect and enrich our community. Thanks to all our attendees, our volunteers, and to the local businesses who generously donated financial support for this event, gift items for our auction and the Sweet and Savory food and drinks that made the evening so enjoyable and such a success!
