Superintendent of Mesa Verde National Park to speak to Rotary Club of Durango

Rotary club to meet

Cliff Spencer, superintendent of Mesa Verde National Park, will speak to to the Rotary Club of Durango at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, on Zoom.

Spencer will speak about operational changes at Mesa Verde. Some changes are temporary, driven by construction projects, while others are permanent.

Spencer’s duties also included park service management responsibilities for the Yucca House National Monument in Colorado, and Aztec Ruins National Monument and Chaco Culture National Historical Park.

His 30-year career with the National Park Service has included assignments in nine parks as a law enforcement ranger, firefighter, medic and high-angle rescuer. He holds a bachelor’s degree in recreation administration from California State University, Northridge.
