Sundog Gallery in Mancos is taking entries for its first juried “Small Works” exhibition titled “It’s a Small Works After All.” The exhibition features original artwork by local and regional artists.
The show is open to artists 18 and older living within 100 miles of Mancos, according to an email from Sundog. Applicants may submit up to three pieces, each no larger than 12 inches in any direction, including the frame when framed.
Eligible mediums include two-dimensional and three-dimensional works such as painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, textile, printmaking, mixed media and ceramics. Jewelry and AI-generated works are not accepted. Because the show is juried, not all submissions will be accepted.
Submissions must be current and original creations by the submitting artist, and all accepted pieces must be for sale. The gallery takes a 50% commission on any sales, paid one week after the exhibition closes.
The deadline for entries is 11:59 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2. Notifications of acceptance are expected by Friday, Feb. 6, and the exhibition runs Feb. 27-April 7.
A jury will select a Best in Show winner, who earns a future show at the gallery. A People's Choice award, determined by votes cast during the opening night event, comes with a trophy.
