Strange brew: Trump vetoes allies’ pipeline

Reps. Lauren Boebert and Jeff Hurd successfully moved legislation through both houses of Congress to complete the long-delayed Arkansas Valley Pipeline project, which would improve water quality in a region plagued by toxic groundwater. Our local newspaper rightfully acknowledged their work on this issue.

Then the president – to whom they’ve consistently pledged loyalty – promptly vetoed it (Journal, Dec. 31). Strange politics indeed.

Why would the president deny a badly needed infrastructure project that would benefit his own loyal rural constituents?

Perhaps it was due to Boebert’s vote on the Epstein discharge petition? Or could it be retaliation for Tina Peters’ conviction and incarceration for election-related crimes tied to the “Stolen Election” narrative – a narrative vocally and wholeheartedly embraced by none other than Boebert herself?

Fascinating. This stuff makes my head hurt.
