Southwest Colorado nonprofits raise $805,672 in big Colorado Gives Day

10 Southwest Colorado nonprofits benefit

This year’s Colorado Gives Day broke last year’s record, with $56.5 million donated to Colorado nonprofits by 102,000 donors. Of that amount, Southwest Colorado nonprofits raised $805,672, according to the Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado.

Last year’s statewide total was $54.6 million.

In Southwest Colorado, 2,495 donors supported 162 organizations in Montezuma, Dolores, La Plata, Archuleta and San Juan counties. Causes included food assistance, art, housing, youths and animal welfare.

The Montezuma County nonprofits identified by the Community Foundation as active participants were Montezuma Land Conservancy, Crow Canyon Archaeological Center, Montezuma School to Farm, Southwest Memorial Hospital Foundation, Grief Center of Southwest Colorado, Lamp Post Creative Learning Center, Mancos Valley Resources, Mancos Creative District, High Desert Devo and Tails of Transformation.
