DENVER – After a season that saw Four Corners athletes earned 10 podium finishes at the state meet, the M-CHS boys track and field team win the Intermountain League, and both the Dolores boys and girls teams take runner-up in the San Juan Basin meet, CHSAA allocated six spots on their all-state teams for Montezuma County track and field competitors.

Courtesy of their top three finish at the state championships, Mancos juniors Destiny Kramer (high jump) and Jonah Ritter (100 meters) made first team, while Dolores junior Michael Rantz (400 meters) was also named to the 2A first team. M-CHS sophomore Tessa Jackson (high jump) landed on the 3A first team, while senior Colby McMillian (400 meters) and sophomore Trey Hall (high jump) were each named to the 3A second team.

Over two dozen student-athletes represented the Four Corners schools in Lakewood over the weekend of May 15-17 to close out another strong year for the area track and field teams.

CHSAA’s criteria for all-state selection this season included recognizing athletes who finished in the top three of an individual event as first team, athletes who placed fourth through sixth in an individual event would be named second team, and finishers seven through nine would be honorable mention. For relays, champion teams were first team, runners-up made second team, and the third-place relay were named honorable mention all-state.
