7:36 a.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on U.S. Highway 160, Cortez, for a report of a protection order violation involving threatening social media posts, a message written on a door and threatening text messages from the suspect’s mother. No arrests were made.

Wednesday, March 18

11:34 p.m.: A deputy responded to Love’s Fuel Station, 7006 U.S. Highway 160, Cortez, for a shoplifting attempt. Another man was issued a citation for trespassing.

Sunday, March 22

2:23 p.m.: A deputy responded to Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N. Mildred Road, Cortez, to assist with a combative man in the trauma room. The man was placed in a WRAP device and later arrested at the Montezuma County Detention Center. MC260346

Monday, March 23

10:30 a.m.: A deputy responded to a residence near Road 25, Dolores, for a fraud by wire report after a woman sent $500 for a horse on Facebook in a transaction that appeared to be fraud. No arrest.

6:36 p.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on U.S. Highway 491, Pleasant View, for property damage.

Wednesday, March 25

6:16 p.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on U.S. Highway 491, Lewis, for unsafe target practice after a ricochet struck near a juvenile. Investigation determined the shot likely came from the north or northeast; no suspects identified.

Thursday, April 2

3:25 p.m.: A deputy responded to Love’s Travel Stop, 7006 U.S. Hwy. 160, Cortez, for a sick person in a semitruck. The man was allegedly highly intoxicated; Colorado State Patrol took the investigation.

Friday, April 3

12:35 a.m.: A deputy responded to the 37000 block of CO Highway 184, Mancos, for a traffic crash involving a vehicle that struck elk. No injuries; Colorado State Patrol took over.

8:54 a.m.: A deputy responded to the 25000 block of Colorado Highway 184, Dolores, for a crash between a semitrailer and another vehicle that blocked the roadway. Colorado State Patrol took over after traffic control.

3:40 p.m.: A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a pickup with no front license plate at Love’s Truck Stop, 7006 U.S. Highway 160, Cortez. The man was cited for failure to provide proof of insurance.

Saturday, April 4

10:23 p.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on Road 27, Cortez, for a man with a gun allegedly threatening family members. The man fired one shot into the air before family members disarmed him. He was arrested.

Sunday, April 5

3:22 p.m.: A deputy responded to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., Cortez, for a man turning himself in on a warrant.

6:35 p.m.: A deputy responded to Road 25 and Road N, Cortez, for a vehicle that slid off the road. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI and open container.

8:59 p.m.: A deputy responded to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., Cortez, for a man turning himself in on a warrant. He was arrested.

Monday, April 6

9:41 a.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on Road L, Cortez, for a restraining order violation after a woman was found inside a prohibited trailer on the property.
