Friday, Jan. 9

12:01 p.m.: A deputy responded to U.S. Highway 160 and Road G in Cortez for a report of a pedestrian jumping into traffic and flailing. A woman advanced on an officer with scissors, and was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Tuesday, Jan. 13

7 a.m.: A deputy responded to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., for a report of a fight between two inmates. One man head-butted another over a commissary debt from an illegal bet made in the jail. The aggressor was issued a citation for third-degree assault.

11:26 a.m.: A deputy responded to the Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., for a custody remand. A woman was transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center. Suspected narcotics was found in a holding cell and patrol vehicle. A citation was issued for introduction of contraband, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and controlled substance possession.

1:50 p.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on Road J. 85 in Mancos for a report of harassment and menacing via threatening messages and Facebook posts from an ex-employee. The reporting party feared immediate harm. A warrant for the aggressor was approved.1

Wednesday, Jan. 14

8:27 a.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on U.S. Highway 160 in Cortez for a report of a damaged mailbox possibly struck by a vehicle between 5:30 a.m. and 6:50 a.m. No suspect or reported crashes were identified.

3:49 p.m.: A deputy responded to the 3900 block of U.S. Highway 160 in Cortez for a report of a dog with compound fractures after being hit by a vehicle. The dog was humanely euthanized on scene with permission and buried by the owner.

Saturday, Jan. 17

3:26 p.m.: A deputy initiated a traffic stop on Road G near Cortez after observing an unsecured load and no trailer plate. The driver had a revoked license, no registration and no insurance. The vehicle was towed. A citation was issued for no valid license, no insurance and failure to secure load.

4:16 p.m.: A deputy responded to Road T and Road 18 in Cortez for a single-vehicle crash in a field. Two men were arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Sunday, Jan. 18

3:44 p.m.: A deputy responded to Love's, 7006 U.S. Highway 160 in Cortez for a semitruck collision in the parking lot. One driver was cited for unsafe backing, and the other for careless driving. M

Monday, Jan. 19

10:47 a.m.: A deputy responded to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., for a woman transported in with warrants.

4:43 p.m.: A deputy responded to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., for an uncooperative woman being turned in by her family.

Tuesday, Jan. 20

8:35 a.m.: A deputy responded to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., for a man turning himself in.

9:57 a.m.: A deputy responded to the Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., for a court-ordered remand. A man was arrested. MC260079

Wednesday, Jan. 21

1:24 a.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on Road 31 in Mancos for a report of a man dragging a woman into a house. He was arrested on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence.

8:17 p.m.: A deputy initiated a traffic stop in the 5000 block of U.S. Highway 160 in Cortez for a headlight violation. The driver had no insurance. A summons citation was issued for financial responsibility/insurance.

Thursday, Jan. 22

11:41 a.m.: A deputy responded to the Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., for a failure-to-appear remand. He was arrested.

1:58 p.m.: A deputy made a phone call regarding possible mail fraud at a residence on Road W in Lewis. The resident received letters about unauthorized vehicle purchase attempts.

6:28 p.m.: A deputy responded to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., for a woman turning herself in.

8:47 p.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on CO Highway 145 in Dolores for a verbal disturbance reported on an open 911 line. The husband punched a wall during an argument with his wife. He was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence.

9:04 p.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on Road P in Dolores for a divorce-related disturbance. The man alleged a slap, but the wife denied physical contact. No evidence was found, and a civil standby was conducted.

Friday, Jan. 23

4:59 p.m.: A deputy responded to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., for a man transported in with multiple warrants. He was arrested on suspicion of the warrants.

Saturday, Jan. 24

4:09 p.m.: A deputy was dispatched to contact a woman on CO Highway 184 in Mancos regarding possible harassment. She reported a man moving items to wire open her gate and intentionally striking an oil drum with his vehicle. The man was issued a citation.

10:47 p.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on Road S. 7 in Cortez for a reported domestic assault and break-in. A woman allegedly entered her estranged husband’s home against his wishes, leading to a physical altercation. She was arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary, third-degree assault and domestic violence.2

Sunday, Jan. 25

9:17 a.m.: A deputy initiated a traffic stop in the 7000 block of U.S. Highway 160 in Cortez for missing registration stickers. The driver initially gave false information about her name due to a warrant. She was arrested on suspicion of the warrant, driving a vehicle without a driver’s license, financial responsibility/insurance and violation of registration provisions/displayed fictitious number plate.
