Sunday, May 25

4:55 p.m.: A woman was taken into custody following a pursuit that began after she struck gas pumps and failed to yield. The incident concluded at the 11800 block of U.S. Highway 491, Cortez. She was reportedly intoxicated and verbally combative.

Thursday, June 19

2:57 a.m.: A man was reported to have shoplifted a face mask from a convenience store at the 7000 block of U.S. Highway 160, Cortez. Surveillance footage showed the man concealing the item under his hoodie and leaving without paying. The store declined to press charges but requested both individuals be trespassed.

Monday, June 30

12:04 a.m.: A woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI, assault, domestic violence, and multiple traffic violations after nearly causing a collision at Sligo St. and E. Empire St., Cortez. She admitted to drinking and assaulting her boyfriend days earlier. Her blood alcohol content was 0.221. She was booked into the Montezuma County Detention Center.

12:31 a.m.: A man was found passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle parked in the middle of the 23000 block of Road G, Cortez. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI and obstructing a roadway. Methamphetamine was later found nearby. He admitted to drug use and was issued a summons.

Monday, July 7

7:51 a.m.: A woman reported the theft of a Stihl chain saw, valued at $500, from the open garage of her residence on the 100 block of N. 20th St., Dolores. The theft occurred sometime between June 30 and July 5. No suspects were identified.

Wednesday, July 9

11:36 a.m.: A man in custody at the Montezuma County Detention Center was served with a warrant from La Plata County for motor vehicle theft, burglary, and criminal mischief.

5:30 p.m.: A vehicle was cited for being parked on the wrong side of the road near Railroad Ave. and Ninth St., Dolores. A penalty assessment was issued and left on the windshield.

Friday, July 11

10:52 a.m.: A man was remanded from court and transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center from the 800 block of N. Park St., Cortez, on charges including assault, child abuse, and criminal mischief.

Sunday, July 13

2:12 a.m.: A woman was arrested outside the police department at the 600 block of N. Park St., Cortez, during an altercation involving multiple individuals. She was transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center.

Monday, July 14

5 p.m.: A man reported identity theft from his residence on the 35000 block of Road J. 8, Mancos. He received a past-due notice and was contacted by a business in Chicago regarding a fraudulent loan. He was referred to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation..

Tuesday, July 15

10:06 a.m.: A man was sentenced to 60 days and transported from the Combined Courts at the 800 block of N. Park St., Cortez, to the Montezuma County Detention Center. Case

2:25 p.m.: A juvenile male was taken into custody at the Combined Courts at the 800 block of N. Park St., Cortez, on a warrant for failure to appear. He was booked into the Montezuma County Detention Center.
