11:45 a.m.: A man reported graffiti on a campground sign at 30777 Road H, Cortez. The damage was estimated at $520.65. No suspects were identified.
4:32 p.m.: A man reported the theft of a white Arctic Cat DVX300 four-wheeler from 7059 Road 22.6, Cortez. The suspect reportedly cut a fence to remove the vehicle. #
1:44 a.m.: Deputies pursued a man on a four-wheeler who failed to stop for a traffic stop near 6585 Road 24.5, Cortez. The man was found hiding under a semitrailer hood and arrested on suspicion of eluding and drug possession.
10:35 p.m.: A woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI after being involved in a hit-and-run at 7006 U.S. Highway 160, Cortez. She admitted to drinking and had a blood alcohol content of 0.135.
6:02 p.m.: At 35303 U.S. Highway 160, Mancos, a man claimed two individuals from Mesa Verde RV Resort had taken his girlfriend and dog. The individuals stated they removed the woman due to concerns about domestic violence displayed a firearm in self-defense. The woman confirmed she had been assaulted but declined to press charges. The man was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault and domestic violence and later issued a summons for criminal mischief after damaging a patrol vehicle door while in custody.
12:27 p.m.: A man reported being defrauded out of $30,000 in a classic car scam involving a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. The vehicle was never delivered to his address at 26505 Road N, Cortez.
7:02 p.m.: Deputies responded to 41783 Highway 184, Mancos, for a trespassing complaint involving a neighbor dispute over property boundaries and gate access. No charges were filed pending further review.
9:27 p.m.: A male juvenile turned himself in at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., Cortez, on outstanding warrants for menacing and criminal mischief.
9:49 a.m.: Deputies responded to 46001 Road G.3, Mancos, for a domestic violence report. A woman stated she had been physically restrained and threatened with a firearm by a man. The case remains under investigation.
3:20 p.m.: Deputies responded to 110 N. 16th St., Dolores, where a man was found lying in the road after reportedly falling out of a vehicle. He was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order that prohibited alcohol consumption.
7:18 p.m.: Deputies responded to 7033 Highway 160, Cortez, for a report of a man hitting a woman. The woman had visible injuries, and the man was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence.
1:04 p.m.: A man reported that someone had entered his unlocked vehicle over the past three weeks at 7031 Road 41, Mancos, and stolen a backup camera valued at $169.99. He was unsure who committed the theft or when it occurred but planned to review his security footage.
11:30 a.m.: Deputies responded to Stoner Campground, 26055 Road 40, Montezuma County after a woman alleged that the campground manager shot a bear near her cabin on May 12, then left it to die before removing a paw and part of the skull and burying the carcass near a septic tank. Deputies observed blood on the porch and freshly dug dirt near the area she identified. Photos were taken and forwarded to Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
4:25 a.m.: Deputies responded to a disturbance between a truck driver and a convenience store employee at 7006 Highway 160, Cortez. A man was cited for harassment after allegedly spitting on the employee and attempting to strike her with a water bottle.
3:23 p.m.: Deputies responded to a structure fire at 23207 Road S, Dolores. The fire appeared to have started in the freezer of a camper. The fire was not suspicious and was reported for insurance purposes.
5:26 p.m.: A man was taken into custody at 865 N. Park St., Cortez, following a court remand and booked into the Montezuma County Detention Center.
5:52 p.m.: A man was stopped at 405 W. Seventh St., Cortez, for failing to stop at a stop sign. He refused to provide identification and was later found to be driving with a suspended license. He was issued a summons.
11:47 p.m.: A woman at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., Cortez, was charged with violating a protection order after making a phone call to a protected party.
11:57 p.m.: A man was stopped at East Main Street and Mildred Road, Cortez, for driving without headlights and at a high rate of speed. He was issued a summons for reckless driving and failure to display lamps.
5:26 p.m.: Deputies responded to a trespassing complaint at 23915 Road G, Cortez. A man reported that two individuals were living in a trailer on his property without permission. Both were issued summonses for second-degree trespassing and permanently trespassed from the property.
10:14 a.m.: A man reported that another man had stolen his wallet and Colorado ID from his residence at 18396 Highway 145, Apt. 9, Dolores. The suspect was believed to be in Cortez. The case was closed after the victim was advised to report the theft to the Department of Revenue.
10:03 a.m.: Deputies responded to a domestic violence call at 411 Central Ave., Apt. 4, Dolores. A woman reported that a man had taken her phone, pushed her, and threatened her with a knife. The man was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and transported to the hospital for medical clearance before being booked into the Montezuma County Detention Center.
8:33 a.m.: A man turned himself in at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., Cortez. He was arrested on suspicion of child abuse and driving while ability impaired, both stemming from warrants out of La Plata County. He was booked without incident.
11:10 a.m.: A man already in custody at Montezuma Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., Cortez, was arrested on suspicion of an outstanding warrant and transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center.
