Thursday, April 17 ​

2:06 a.m. A red water truck ran into a corrugated tin outbuilding and its driver fled from the scene on foot, leaving the truck idling, keys in the ignition, in the 6000 block of Road 23.6 in Cortez.​ The truck belongs to RW Trucking Co., Inc., and its owner was unaware it was missing. ​ Damage to the shed was estimated at $40. The case is active. ​

Saturday, April 19 ​

1:18 p.m. A man reported a washer, dryer and livestock trailer stolen from his property in the 30000 block of Road P in Mancos. ​A former tenant said he had the trailer for repairs and denied involvement in the theft; the case is under investigation. ​

Friday, April 25 ​

1:23 p.m. Deputies responded to the Montezuma County Jail, 730 E. Driscoll St., to serve warrants to two men who were arrested. ​

Monday, April 28 ​

9:08 p.m. A man reported his ex-girlfriend damaged a closet door valued at $100 during an argument in the 10000 block of Road 29 in Cortez. ​Witnesses said the woman was intoxicated and yelling. ​ Deputies were unable to locate her. ​ ​

Tuesday, April 29 ​

2:20 p.m. A car rolled through a stop sign at the intersection of Chestnut and Seventh streets in Cortez. The driver could not provide proof of insurance and was issued a summons. ​

7:02 p.m. Two vehicles crashed at the intersection of Colorado Highway 145 and Road M in Cortez. Everyone involved was transported to the hospital.

Wednesday, April 30 ​

11:00 a.m. A man with a warrant turned himself in to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St. ​

Thursday, May 1 ​

2:10 a.m. A chicken coop caught fire, killing 23 chickens and causing an estimated $1,900 of damage in the 26000 block of Road H in Arriola. The fire appeared to be caused by a heating lamp. ​

9:10 a.m. A man was remanded to custody at the Montezuma Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., and taken to jail.

9:58 a.m. Deputies served a man two warrants at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St. ​

10:14 a.m. A man was remanded to custody at the Montezuma Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., and taken to jail. ​

Friday, May 2 ​

8:06 a.m. A driver failed to yield at the intersection of Road L and Brandon’s Boulevard in Cortez and was taken into custody.

Saturday, May 3 ​

12:18 a.m. A car was pulled over in the 7000 block of Road 25 in Cortez, and a passenger with an active warrant was arrested. ​

3:44 a.m. A car crossed the center line at Roads H and 25 in Cortez, and the driver was cited with failing to provide proof of insurance.

2:16 p.m. A woman turned on an electric stove and put a plastic container on it, which started a fire in the 8000 block of Road 41 in Mancos. ​The fire was extinguished, and no charges were filed. ​

10:58 p.m. A car with expired registration was pulled over in the 8000 block of Road 25 in Cortez. The driver was cited for failing to provide proof of insurance and driving without a valid license.

Monday, May 5 ​

1:08 p.m. A man was remanded to custody at the Montezuma Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., and taken to jail.

5:11 p.m. A man with a warrant was arrested in the 28000 block of Road K.2 in Cortez, after a report of a disturbance. ​
