Sunday, April 13 ​

4:32 a.m. A woman with severe neck pain and a baby were found outside a rolled over vehicle in the 100 block of U.S. Highway 160 in Cortez. ​She said her friends fled the scene after the crash, and ​medics transported her and the baby to the hospital. ​No other individuals were located. ​

Sunday, April 20 ​

3:24 p.m. A man allegedly smacked a woman in the face multiple times during an argument in the 20000 block of Road L in Cortez. She had no visible injuries and refused to cooperate further. ​The man was not located. ​

Monday, April 21 ​

8:54 a.m. A storage unit was broken into twice in the 24000 block of Road G. 2 in Cortez. Suspects attempted to hotwire a UTV and caused an estimated $370 in damages. No suspects were identified. ​8

Tuesday, April 22 ​

6:17 p.m.​ A man reported the theft of a custom-made smoker valued at $600 in the 29000 block of Colorado Highway 184 in Dolores. ​Deputies observed tire and shoe impressions, but had no other leads.

Wednesday, April 23

5:07 a.m. A man turned himself into the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., on three warrants for failure to appear. ​

Thursday, April 25 ​

10:49 a.m. A man was remanded to custody at the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., and transported to jail. ​

Friday, April 26 ​

12:56 p.m. Deputies assisted Cortez police in locating a vehicle involved in a domestic violence case. ​The vehicle was found in the 10000 block of Road 24.4 in Cortez, and the driver was arrested. Her son took possession of the vehicle. ​

Saturday, April 27 ​

1:47 p.m. A man allegedly damaged his girlfriend’s home and took shared property during a breakup in the 20000 block of Road N in Cortez.​ The issue was determined to be civil, as there was insufficient evidence of criminal activity. ​

Sunday, April 28

12:59 p.m. A man turned himself in on a warrant from Galveston County. He was taken into custody and booked in the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St. ​

12:49 p.m. A man with a warrant for failure to appear on charges of criminal mischief and child abuse was booked into the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St. ​

4:25 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant from Teller County in the 24000 block of Road M in Cortez and transported to jail. ​

11:27 p.m. A man was advised of his warrant and left in the custody of Montezuma County Detention Center staff at 730 E. Driscoll St. ​ M
