Monday, March 25 ​

10:28 a.m. A man was transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., and served two warrants for failure to appear. He was booked into jail.

Monday, March 31 ​

3:16 p.m. A real estate agent reportedly defrauded a woman by taking out a bank loan on her property and putting it in their name in the the 4000 block of U.S. Highway 160, Mancos. ​ Documentation provided did not appear to show fraudulent activity.

Friday, April 4

1:53 p.m. A dark green Subaru hit a man’s vehicle and drove off in the 700 block of Railroad Ave. in Dolores.​ The suspect vehicle was located and the driver was arrested and cited with DUI, driving without insurance, driving with a suspended license and an open containere. ​ The driver refused roadside maneuvers and a chemical test.

1:50 p.m. An inmate at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was cited with violating a protection order. He had a video visit with a protected party using another person’s account.

Sunday, April 6 ​

12:57 a.m. ​A woman was found unconscious after reportedly smoking methamphetamine in the 39000 block of U.S. Highway 160 in Mancos. ​She claimed she was choked by a man during an argument, but no physical evidence supported her claim and drug paraphernalia was found in her vehicle.

Tuesday, April 8 ​

2:04 p.m. A man with three warrants for failure to appear was transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

2:25 p.m. Two inmates got into a fight at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St. One man was deemed the aggressor and cited with harassment.

3:24 p.m. A man with a felony menacing chargge was transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Wednesday, April 9 ​

11:30 a.m. A woman with a warrant for failure to appear was arrested at the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., and taken to jail.

Thursday, April 10 ​

9:11 a.m. Four women were cited with third-degree assault after a physical altercation stemming from a dog fight in the 24000 block of Road N in Cortez.

10:30 p.m. A deputy recognized a man with two warrants walking southbound on U.S. Highway 160. The man threw a glass pipe commonly used for methamphetamine during the encounter. ​He was arrested and booked into jail on warrants, and was also cited with obstructing a peace officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Friday, April 12

2:01 a.m. A woman crashed her vehicle into a wash in the 2000 block of U.S. Highway 160 and was arrested and cited with DUI after providing a breath sample of 0.276. She was also cited with careless driving and driving without insurance.

11:35 a.m. Deputies assisted Cortez Police with a search warrant at the Super 8 Motel, 505 E. Main St., Cortez. ​ They entered a room, but no one was located. ​

5 p.m. A man stated he swerved to avoid a deer and drove into a ditch, damaging power lines in the 25000 block of Road H in Cortez. ​No injuries were reported.

Saturday, April 13 ​

9:13 a.m. A woman reported an argument with her landlord over a cellphone in the 400 block of Ash Street in Cortez. No criminal activity was determined, though​ Cortez Police later arrested a different woman at the scene.

11:54 a.m. Someone broke the window of a car in the 10000 block of Road 29 in Cortez, but nothing was stolen.

Monday, April 14

6:15 p.m. A woman stated her boyfriend backhanded her during an argument in the 1000 block of Main Street in Cortez. ​ She had a small cut on her lip, and the man drove off with their child in the car. ​

5:28 p.m. Deputies assisted Cortez Police with a warrant service in the 1000 block of Acoma St. in Cortez. They arrested a man.

7:39 p.m. A woman witnessed a man approach a trailer and assault another man in the 200 block of Seventh Street in Cortez. ​ Names and contact information were collected for Cortez Police.
