4:51 p.m. Someone broke into mailboxes and stole mail in the 28300 block of Road K.2. Residents reported that this was an ongoing issue.

Wednesday, June 29

4:33 p.m. A patrol lieutenant observed a woman chasing, hitting and attempting to kick an intoxicated man near the duck pond in Centennial Park, 515 N. Mildred Road. Cortez police arrived and took over the investigation.

6:18 p.m. A woman was cited for criminal mischief after she drove through man’s fence at his residence in the 10200 block of Road 28.2.

Saturday, July 2

8:43 p.m. An abandoned vehicle was towed from someone’s residence in the 500 block of Railroad Avenue, Dolores.

Sunday, July 3

7:38 a.m. An electrical fire burned a residence with two dogs inside in the 9500 block of Road 29.1. No citations were issued.

6:40 p.m. A man was cited for driving without a license and failing to obey a traffic control device after he was pulled over for not completely stopping at a stop sign in the 8000 block of Road 27.

Monday, July 4

11:02 a.m. A man reported that he was assaulted by a neighbor over property line disputes in the 14100 block of Road 36.75, Mancos. The neighbors had conflicting stories, and a deputy advised they pursue the issue in civil court.

12:27 p.m. A man was remanded at the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

Wednesday, July 6

1:53 p.m. A deputy attempted to pull over a driver who was driving recklessly in the 14000 block of U.S. Highway 491. The driver evaded the deputy and the pursuit was called off. Later, the deputy found the driver in the 10200 block of U.S. Highway 491 and cited him for vehicular eluding, reckless driving, careless driving, speeding, weaving, not using his turn signal and failing to stop at a stop sign.

2:46 p.m. The man who an hour earlier was suspected of driving recklessly and evading an officer was questioned in the parking lot of the Maverik gas station after a report that a man was backing up against traffic in the 10200 block of U.S. Highway 491. The man was arrested and cited for drunken and reckless driving and having an open alcoholic container in his car.

5:18 p.m. A female inmate was served a warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Thursday, July 7

4:53 a.m. A fight reportedly occurred between a man and woman in the 29400 block of Road M, Dolores. A deputy determined that the fight was not physical, and separated the couple.

8:51 a.m. A man reportedly resisted arrest at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St. The man was booked at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., and cited for two counts of second-degree assault on a peace officer and one count of resisting arrest.

8:13 p.m. A pastor reported that someone damaged a window at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 6176 U.S. Highway 160.

Friday, July 8

3:16 p.m. A deputy transferred a man from Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N. Mildred Road, to Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

10:17 p.m. A male inmate was cited for harassment after surveillance footage showed him elbow a detention deputy in the face at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Sunday, July 10

2:16 p.m. A woman reported that she was bit by a dog while greeting her new neighbors in the 43700 block of Road M, Mancos. No charges were pursued.

Tuesday, July 12

5:44 a.m. A deputy responded to a report that woman crashed into a tree and left the scene in the 26200 block of Colorado Highway 145, Dolores. The Colorado State Patrol took over the investigation.
