Monday, Sept. 6

1:22 p.m. A woman reported damage to her horse trailer at her property in the 27000 block of Road R, caused by 17-inch tire that likely rolled off a vehicle traveling southbound on Colorado Highway 145.

Tuesday, Sept. 7

6 p.m. A sex offender failed to register his address after being released from jail and was arrested.

6:32 p.m. A sex offender was late in renewing his registration, and could not be contacted.

Thursday, Sept. 9

6:29 p.m. A man reported a bicycle missing from his home in the 200 block of South Sixth Street in Dolores after returning home from a vacation to Arizona.

Saturday, Sept. 18

2:04 p.m. An inmate at the jail was thought to have hidden a baggie of blue pills, suspected to be fentanyl, under the body scan machine at the time of her booking Sept.1.

Tuesday, Sept. 21

12:59 p.m. A woman was transported from court to jail after a failure to comply with drug charges.

Thursday, Sept. 23

4:58 a.m. A deputy responded to a report of an in-progress break-in at a residence in the 28000 block of U.S. Highway 160 in Cortez. The resident saw a shadow outside of his door, and opened it to find a man upset that his ex-girlfriend had been visiting the residence. The man shoved the resident into his house and came inside, refusing to leave until a woman at the residence said she was going to call police.

2:31 p.m. A woman called police to report a couple engaged in a potential domestic violence situation on the side of the road in the 2500 block of U.S. Highway 160 in Cortez. The responding deputies found the couple in the 1000 block of the highway, who said an argument about financial and vehicle issues was strictly verbal.

4:46 p.m. A woman was bitten by a kitten near the Cortez Softball Complex at 24301 Road G.2 after setting up a trap for homeless kittens to try and keep them.

7:47 p.m. A deputy served two men with arrest warrants at the jail.

9:58 p.m. A woman was found to be driving under the influence in the 12000 block of U.S. Highway 491. She had an opened bottle of Smirnoff vodka in her vehicle.

Friday, Sept. 24

11:37 a.m. A man and a woman were taken into custody at the jail.

5:50 p.m. A woman reported an unwanted person in a house in the 39000 block of Colorado Highway 184 in Mancos. She tried to evict the man, and called law enforcement after they previously requested that she call whenever she contacted the man next. The man was found to have a warrant for his arrest for driving under the influence, driving under restraint and signaling violation, and was arrested when a deputy later located him west of the property.

Monday, Sept. 27

4:15 a.m. A woman called police when a man who had hit her in the lip with a chainsaw the previous day showed up to her house. The man fled the residence in the 30000 block of Road S.6 in Dolores when the woman said she was calling police. The responding deputy was not able to find the man, and the woman later said she did not want anything done as long as the man was off the property, refusing to provide a written statement or photos of her lip.

7:30 a.m. A deputy responded to a report of a possible drunk driver in the 21000 Block of 491. The driver had cannabis in her hands, as well as empty and full containers of alcohol in her car. The woman had a large bruise above her right eye, but said she didn’t know how it got there. She was transported to the hospital for care.

5:58 p.m. A man was transported from court to jail for driving under the influence.
