Criminal Mischief

An inmate broke a window in an entry door of the jail cell. The entire incident was captured on video surveillance. The inmate was issued a summons for Criminal Mischief. He remained in custody.

Theft

Thursday, Aug. 21

6:45 p.m. A man reported a generator valued at $1,100 was stolen from his shed. The generator is approximately 5 years old, the left wheel is bent, and the gas cap is difficult to remove. The man showed the Deputy where the generator was normally kept and was usually covered with a lot of stuff. The investigation will continue.

Friday Aug. 22

A man reported a safe in his home had been broken into possibly by a man he allowed to stay at his house. He noticed his deceased son’s small safe was damaged after the man left. It had been shot, and was empty. A deputy attempted to collect fingerprints but was unable to. The pawn shops were checked for some of the contents from the safe but nothing was located. The investigation will continue.

Monday, Aug. 18

8:44 a.m. A deputy conducting a walk-through of the Dolores Elementary school was approached by an employee wanting to discuss a theft from the school. She said multiple fly fishing rods, valued at approximately $4,000 had been stolen. She said the theft was noticed at approximately 7:00 a.m. by the person tracking the gym equipment. They did attempt to locate the property and were unable to do so. The Deputy was unable to investigate the scene due to the fact it had been contaminated by the school staff attempting to locate the missing gear.

Accidental Death

Saturday , Aug. 16

8:17 p.m. A man died as a result of his injuries after going through a barb wire fence and striking a tree on the 4300 block of Road M in Echo Basin, Undersheriff Lynda Carter said. Shaun Hanks was found by people in the area who heard the little boys who were with him screaming, she said. The man was unresponsive when the authorities arrived on the scene.
