11:35 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road, on an active warrant.

12:48 p.m.: A man reported a break-in in the 26000 block of County Road 38. He claimed a door and a window had been broken in his cabin, which has been unoccupied for more than 90 days. Responding deputies also found several muddy footprints throughout the cabin, but neither they nor the owner were able to determine if anything had been stolen. The case remains under investigation.

3:55 p.m.: Deputies assisted in the removal of property from an apartment in the 500 block of South Madison Street whose owner had not been seen for several weeks.

6:06 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 300 block of Central Avenue, Dolores, on a warrant for failure to pay fines after employees at the nearby Giant convenience store reported he had attempted to steal a pair of sunglasses.

7:05 p.m.: A woman residing in the 16000 block of County Road 22 reported that she had received a text message from an unknown sender asking, “Where did you hide the body?” followed by several others of a suspicious nature. The case remains under investigation.

Thursday, April 13

1:11 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 300 block of Central Avenue on suspicion of disorderly conduct after several witnesses reported he was shouting at people and making “an unreasonable amount of noise.”

9:36 a.m.: A man was arrested at the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office, 730 E. Driscoll St., on an active warrant.

4:44 p.m.: A female juvenile was arrested in the 28000 block of County Road K.2 on a felony warrant.

10:16 p.m.: A man was served with three warrants at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Friday, April 14

3:21 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 4000 block of U.S. Highway 160 on a warrant for failure to comply after deputies responded to a report of a disturbance at her residence. The disturbance appeared to be a verbal argument, and no one else was arrested.

Saturday, April 15

12:24 a.m.: Deputies responded to a report of an elderly woman walking in the 25000 block of County Road G in muddy clothes. When confronted, the woman said she had decided to leave Mesa View Retirement Home, where she had been staying, and she refused to let responding deputies take her back there. The deputies instead transported her to Southwest Memorial Hospital for medical treatment and notified her caretaker.

Sunday, April 16

2:38 a.m.: A man was issued a summons near the intersection of Colorado Highways 184 and 145 on suspicion of DUI after he was pulled over for overly tinted windows.

Monday, April 17

11:41 a.m.: A woman was arrested in the 11000 block of U.S. Highway 491 on a warrant after a relative asked deputies to check on her welfare.

2:31 p.m.: A man came to the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office, 730 E. Driscoll St., to report he believed his daughter may have gone missing while on vacation in California. He said she usually calls him every other day, but he had not been able to get in touch with her in five days. About half an hour after reporting this, he contacted deputies to say his daughter had called him and was all right.

9:30 p.m.: A man was issued a summons near the intersection of County Roads G and 24.2 on suspicion of driving under restraint after he was pulled over for failing to stop at a stop sign and failing to use a turn signal while changing lanes.
