A worker at a construction site on Highway 160 called MCSO about a radio being stolen. The man said he put his radio down, and when he turned back around it was gone. He said he saw two males walking down the street. Because they were the only ones on the street, he assumed they had stolen it. When questioned, the men denied it. After the officer advised them that telling the truth was in their best interests, they said they did take it and then they got rid of it when the worker started yelling at them. The worker pressed charges on the man who admitted to stealing the radio, who was arrested for theft over $500 but less than $1,000.
Friday, June 14
A deputy reported to a woman’s house in reference to her patio table being broken. She said that when she came home, her table was on the ground and the glass was broken. She also said that she has come home several times and noticed things like her patio furniture being scattered around her yard.
Saturday, June 15
A deputy noticed a man he recognized from previous contacts and knew he did not have a valid driver’s license. Dispatch confirmed his license was revoked for an alcohol-related offense. The officer contacted the man, who said he knew he shouldn’t have been driving but was going to work. He was arrested and issued a summons.
Saturday, June 15
A Chevrolet sedan was pulled over after the driver was seen weaving. The officer asked for the driver’s and passenger’s name and date of birth. Dispatch said the passenger had a failure to comply warrant out of Cortez. The officer took the passenger to jail.
