Seven books on immigrant ancestors to New England donated to Cortez library

The Sleeping Ute Mountain Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution has announced that seven volumes of “The Great Migration” have been donated to the Cortez Public Library in memory of four deceased DAR members.

The volumes describe the “Migration of Immigrants to New England in 1634-1635.” Robert Charles Anderson is the principle compiler of immigrant families.

The DAR Memorial Library Committee provides genealogy books and other collections to the Cortez library, and friends and family members donate memorial funds to the Sleeping Ute Mountain Chapter. The committee then acquires appropriate materials to donate to the Cortez library.

People interested in tracing their ancestors may visit the genealogy section to search the various books. For more information about the memorial library, call Mary Lou Perkins at 970-565-1196.
