I hope Rep. Scott Tipton has spent the hours I have today reading for himself the Mueller Report.

No reasonable person can deny the Russians did not just “try to meddle in the 2016 election,” they did.

Our entire system of elections is at risk. The very essence of democracy is at risk given the far-reaching invasion of our country’s election software, polling places, voter rolls and secretaries of state offices.

What is Congress doing to stop this? I read it was left to the FBI and Homeland Security to shore up our weaknesses. At this juncture, with only acting heads, and no apparent will on the part of Republicans to stand up against this, I am seriously afraid for our country.

The Russians will not always be on their side. Will the Chinese back the Dems in 2020 or 2024? Are we doomed to be played by foreign interests, our own freedoms negated by this kind of sabotage?

Tipton has a job now, as a member of the House, to clean up this mess. The obstruction case has been handed to him on a silver platter. I expect him to stand up for our country, just as the Republicans did in 1974.

It’s clear Trump only won with the aid of Russia. It’s clear he expected and ordered his staff to lie for him to obstruct the investigation. Rep. Tipton, your constituents expect you to to do your part to save this country from further harm.
