San Juan College and Youth Conservation Corps to offer summer employment

San Juan College, partnering with the Youth Conservation Corps, will offer a summer employment opportunity for people ages 18 to 25 from June 1 through July 31.

The hands-on program includes paid positions offering skill-building, training and certifications.

Participants will work on conservation, campus beautification and trail maintenance projects while training in areas such as first aid and CPR/AED, belay and lead climbing, Leave No Trace, financial literacy, forklift and skid-steer operation, defensive driving and chain saw basics.

Employees will work eight-hour days, with YCC team leaders earning $16.44 per hour and crew members earning $15.50 per hour.
