San Juan College will begin a major campus roads and signage project Monday, May 15.

The front, east entrance to the college will be closed beginning Monday, as will the two parking lots in front of the Learning Commons and the Henderson Fine Arts Center.

The scope of project will include upgrading portions of the campus ring road to create a continuous loop, as well as addressing pedestrian circulation with new paths, curbs, site lighting and marking to provide safer travel through the campus.

The project will also include a new bus loop and roundabout for the east entry off College Boulevard. In addition to infrastructure and road improvements, the project will provide new entry gateways and signage throughout the campus.

San Juan College West will also receive new roadway lighting this summer as part of Phase 1. The roadway lighting improvements will provide safer driving conditions for staff and students.

The project will be ongoing throughout the summer, with Phase 2 beginning in late summer. The project is scheduled for completion in late fall.

The project was funded by General Obligation bonds passed in November 2022.
