The seventh annual River Permit Party and auction is Jan. 24 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Dolores Community Center.

The event is a fundraiser for the Dolores River Boating Advocates. There will be a feature film and presentation on the historic first full run of the Dolores River in 1948.

Four people and a dog made the run from Dolores to Moab, Utah. The footage and photographs are from the Otis Marston Colorado River Collection at The Huntington Library, San Marino, California.

Also there will be a silent auction with lots of outdoor gear. Local band Carute Roma will perform, and there will be local food, wine and craft beer. Child care will be provided on-site by a licensed child care provider.
