Rep. Leger-Fernandez visits Farmington

Late Tuesday afternoon of April 15, Rep. Teresa Leger-Fernandez briefly addressed a modest crowd at Farmington's Sycamore Center. She reported to her constituents on several relevant topics that defined this new session during this meet and greet event. Both her achievements and struggles were mentioned.

Water was recognized as one of her successes. Despite the current divisiveness, she has gained bipartisan support for water projects, especially with the goal of delivering potable water to the households located within the Navajo Nation. Undoubtedly, this will improve the quality of life for our neighbors.

Recent controversial actions taken by the Trump Administration forced Congress to immediately respond. TLF has been both visible and vocal in fighting these extreme measures. One of the most deplorable involved the attempted censorship of the many contributions people made that involved diversity. Our own heroes, the Navajo Code Talkers, were briefly omitted from the historical recognition they deserve; Overwhelmingly, all across this country, citizen's protested, and the Code Talkers returned to national prominence.

TLF is guided by her strong religious beliefs. She fears that the actions of Elon Musk would devastate millions of Americans, and is determined to continue fighting for those that depend on Social Security benefits, health insurance, veterans assistance, etc.

She fears the loss of due process of immigrants will result in the loss of all civil liberties of every citizen.

TLF opposes violence, denounced the arson of the NMGOP office, and explained her use of the word “agitate.” A bipartisan government can solve problems.
