Brian Rose is joining the Region 9 Economic Development District as their Business Resource Specialist. Rose worked as a Senior Vice President at Alpine Bank in Durango and has 15 years of commercial lending experience. Rose will oversee the Region 9 Loan Program, assist the Region 9 organization in their sustainable growth, and work with county level economic development groups, the Southwest Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Southwest Colorado Accelerator Program for Entrepreneurs (SCAPE).

Rose moved with his family to Durango in 2011 from the San Luis Valley where he worked for High Country Bank. He is also active in the community through Durango Nature Studies and as a board member and coach for Youth Baseball of SW Colorado.

“We are thrilled to hire someone with Brian’s lending experience and interest in community development,” said Laura Lewis Marchino, executive director of Region 9. “He will bring new knowledge to our team and has a great track record and reputation working with regional businesses.”

Earlier this year, Region 9’s Loan Committee recognized Rose with their ‘Lender of the Year Award’ for his professionalism and willingness to work with Region 9 on joint projects to help fill the financial gap that many community businesses face.
