The Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado has announced the addition of two new board members: Bernadette Cuthair, representing the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, and Alex Lanis, a San Juan County at-large member.

Both candidates were approved at the April meeting of the board of directors.

Cuthair is the director of Planning and Development and the economic development and transportation specialist with the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe.

Lanis is a Silverton resident and the co-founder and manager of Mora Bora LLC; a business developing new residential and commercial spaces to address the pressing need for housing and infrastructure in Southwest Colorado.
