Protect Chaco Canyon from the drilling threat

Chaco Canyon is under threat of drilling rigs in the very near future. For those who have visited – and those who haven't – once Chaco is invaded by drilling rigs, everything ancient, peaceful and beautiful will be a thing of the past. I have written to the president three times pleading to not drill in Chaco.

A good friend and I spent a few days there years ago. Not many folks were there. It was incredibly beautiful and peaceful. We were able to climb the trail inside the split-rock formation and take in an amazing panorama. Below was literally a massive wagon-wheel pattern in the sand – the footprint of so many tribes who had gathered there centuries ago.

Mesa Verde has almost become a bit of a circus. It's amazing and beautiful, but it's also not under threat of drilling. Please comment at https://bit.ly/4b4nYER (click Participate Now), call, jam the White House lines -- by July 29. Drilling in Chaco will be its death sentence. I just don't believe all those involved will be particularly gentle with this sacred place. Chaco Canyon is an ancient Native site, and we can't lose any more of them. Too many are already gone.
