Presentation on plan for predator reduction

The Journal

Chuck Anderson, Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s mammal research leader, will lead a presentation on CPW’s three-year plan to increase the mule deer population in two regions of Colorado by reducing the number of mountain lions and bears.

This three-year project was initiated in 2008 to address mule deer/energy development interactions and to identify improved approaches for development planning and evaluate habitat treatments as mitigation option to benefit mule deer.

The meeting will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the Ridgway Community Center/Town Hall, 201 N. Railroad St. The public is invited.

The event is organized by Northern San Juan Broadband, a chapter of the Great Old Broads for Wilderness. For more information contact northernsanjuanbroadband@gmail.com.
