A power outage affecting nearly 300 people in Cortez, Dolores and Mancos appeared to partially resolved by 8:15 p.m.
According to an outage map on Empire Electric’s website, the outage took place around 6:03 p.m. and affected nearly 300 customers. The area of t, he outage reportedly includes Cortez, Dolores and Mancos, per the recording.
By 8:15 p.m., fewer than 40 customers reportedly were without power.
An automated phone recording on Empire Electric’s outage line said there was no estimated restoration time
“Walking through Safeway with a full cart of groceries in the dark, using my phone flashlight was a bit otherwordly and eerie,” a post in What’s Up? Dolores, Mancos, Cortez! on Facebook said. “Hope everyone has power soon.”
Calls to City Market and Safeway confirmed that both stores were without power and have closed until power is restored.
