Politicians in Washington cannot hear.

Only the wealthy can purchase their ear.

While we all watch, the middle class dies.

Every Congressman closes his eyes.

Really, we know where their interest lies.

Government has left the poor behind.

Ready to feast off their decline.

Eager to feather their own nest.

Easily forgetting all the rest.

Does our country pass the humanitarian test.

If you have not figured out what’s going on in Washington D.C., write down the first letter of each sentence and put the word “and” between the fifth and sixth letter.
