Popular-vote compact will bite Dems

I am not sure that our Democrat legislators approving and Gov. Polis signing the National Popular Vote law was such a bright idea.

If I read it correctly, Gov. Polis is giving our votes to the person who wins the popular vote. Let’s look at this logically.

If you are around 50 years old, there have only been two one-term presidents in your lifetime and only 11 in the 230 years since George Washington was elected.

It looks to me like the odds are high that Trump would be reelected.

There have only been five times in history where a candidate won the popular vote and lost the election. That is only once or possibly twice in the average person’s lifetime.

I think, again, that the odds are with Trump.

Hillary was immensely popular, but only won the popular vote by 2 percent of the people that voted.

In spite of Trump’s offensive tweets and calling people nasty names, his popularity is rising, maybe only slightly, but rising.

The odds are that Trump will win the popular vote in 2020. Admit it or not, Trump has had quite a few great accomplishments.

Now, most Coloradans will probably overwhelmingly vote for the Democratic candidate – and you are not going to be pleased to see Gov. Polis hand over our nine electoral votes to Trump.

When that happens, I hope you remember who the knuckleheads are who caused it.
