Wednesday, Feb. 25

6:28 p.m.: An officer responded to Safeway, 1580 E. Main St., for a report of a person possibly involved in shoplifting. A man already banned from the property was contacted, and no stolen items were found. He was issued a citation with trespassing.

9:23 p.m.: An officer responded to Love’s, 7006 U.S. Highway 160, and located a man, arresting him on suspicion of violating a protection order.

Thursday, Feb. 26

12:23 a.m.: An officer responded to Speedway, 921 E. Main St., for a reported vehicle collision. The male driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI, reckless driving, criminal mischief and failure to remain at the scene.

12:41 p.m.: An officer responded to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., for a warrant service after a man turned himself in. He was arrested.

2:25 p.m.: An officer on patrol at 210 E. Main St. contacted a man with a warrant. He was arrested on suspicion of the warrant.

11:52 p.m.: An officer on patrol at Speedway, 921 E. Main St., contacted a man pumping gas who had multiple warrants. He was arrested.

Friday, Feb. 27

7:58 p.m.: An officer responded to Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., for a shoplifting report involving stolen alcoholic beverages. A man was located in a nearby field and arrested on suspicion of shoplifting. He was also permanently banned from Walmart.

Sunday, March 1

8:07 p.m.: An officer responded to East Second Street after reports of a reckless vehicle. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI, reckless driving, driving without a valid license and failure to present proof of insurance.

Monday, March 2

9:49 a.m.: An officer responded to Porch Light Health, 35 N. Ash St., and contacted a man with a warrant. He was arrested on suspicion of the warrant.

1:44 p.m.: An officer responded to Tawi Kaan Apartments, 560 E. Empire St., and contacted a man with a warrant. The man was arrested.

2:40 p.m.: An officer responded to McDonald's restaurant, 1322 E. Main St., and contacted a woman with an active federal warrant for distribution. She was arrested on suspicion of the warrant and held for FBI pickup.

3:42 p.m.: An officer responded to St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church, 28 E. Montezuma Ave., regarding a man previously banned from the property who returned to retrieve items. The man was arrested on suspicion of trespassing and a warrant.

5:25 p.m.: An officer responded to South Washington Street for a warrant service. A woman with a warrant was contacted and arrested on suspicion of the warrant.

6:52 p.m.: An officer responded to Cortez Fire Station 1, 31 N. Washington St., after a woman approached firefighters reporting people trying to kill her. She described an incident involving unwanted advances but no physical altercation. She was arrested on a warrant.

Tuesday, March 3

12:43 p.m.: An officer on patrol observed three people in the alley north of Ocean Pearl, 300 E. Main St., drinking from an alcohol bottle. One man with a warrant was arrested.

2:52 p.m.: An officer responded to Front Row Seat, 610 E. Main St., and contacted two men loitering and consuming alcohol on the property. Both men had warrants and were arrested. One of the men was also issued a citation for open container.

5:07 p.m.: An officer on foot patrol at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St., contacted a man with two warrants. He was arrested.

9:57 p.m.: An officer on patrol near East Main Street and Trinity Avenue stopped a vehicle for expired temporary registration and a malfunctioning taillight. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, operating an uninsured vehicle, driving with a license revoked, displaying expired plates and taillamps and reflectors required. 2

Wednesday, March 4

8:45 a.m.: An officer contacted a man near Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. regarding multiple warrants. He was arrested. 2

3:18 p.m.: An officer responded to Burger King, 520 W. Main St., regarding a trespass violation. A man who had been previously banned was present on the property and arrested on suspicion of trespassing.
