Thursday, Dec. 4

6:38 a.m.: An officer responded to Safeway, 1580 E. Main St., after a man allegedly stole two cans of beer despite being previously banned. The man was located nearby at Parque de Vida, 400 N. Mildred Road, and was arrested on suspicion of theft, trespassing and a warrant.

9:52 a.m.: An officer responded to West Slope Liquors, 2212 E. Main St., and arrested a man on three warrants.

7:36 p.m.: An officer responded to White Eagle Inn, 2110 S. Broadway, for a disturbance. A man was banned, returned minutes later, resisted arrest and was arrested on suspicion of trespassing.

Friday, Dec. 5

2:08 a.m.: An officer responded to Speedway, 2021 E. Main St., regarding an unwanted person. The man was located on Lakeside Drive and arrested on a warrant.

2:31 p.m.: An officer served an additional warrant on the same man from the 2:08 a.m. incident at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

4:12 p.m.: An officer responded to a residence on Lakeside Drive where a man previously banned from the property was yelling inside the home. The man was arrested on suspicion of trespassing.

5:08 p.m.: An officer served two warrants a man turning himself in at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

8:46 p.m.: An officer responded to McDonald’s, 1322 E. Main St., where a man was found passed out behind the wheel in the drive-through. The man was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Saturday, Dec. 6

1:11 p.m.: An officer contacted a man with warrants at a residence on South Market Street. The man was arrested.

5:13 p.m.: An officer responded to City Market, 508 E. Main St., after a man allegedly stole beer, smashed cans and caused multiple disturbances throughout the day at various location. He was given a two-year ban from Walmart, City Market and from a private residence. He was arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace.

7:47 p.m.: An officer conducted a traffic stop near Denny Lake, 2825 E. Main St., for weaving. The male driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI, failure to drive in a single lane (weaving) and DUI per se.

10:52 p.m.: An officer responded to a residence on Henry Street after a son reported his mother hiding methamphetamine. The woman voluntarily surrendered a little over 35 grams of methamphetamine. She was arrested on suspicion of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sunday, December 7

7:50 p.m.: An officer responded to Denny’s, 2059 E. Main St., where a man repeatedly returned after being trespassed earlier in the day from multiple businesses, including O’Reilly’s Auto Parts and the Cortez Police Department. The man allegedly resisted arrest and was arrested on suspicion of trespassing, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

10:31 p.m.: An officer responded to Cortez Mobile Estates, 621 N. Elm St., after an 18-year-old woman was going door-to-door offering alcohol. She was arrested on suspicion of assault on a peace officer, criminal attempt assault on a peace officer, tampering with physical evidence, disorderly conduct, illegal possession of alcohol by an underage person, illegal consumption of alcohol by an underage person, resisting arrest and obstructing a peace officer.

Monday, Dec. 8

1:48 a.m.: An officer conducted a traffic stop near 300 S. Broadway for erratic driving. The male driver, who only held a permit, was found to have marijuana in the vehicle and possessed a concealed firearm. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI-drugs, prohibited use of weapons (possession of a firearm while under the influence), weaving and driving without a valid license.

11:26 a.m.: An officer responded to a residence on South Chestnut Street for a domestic disturbance. A man allegedly told officers he pushed his partner during an argument. He was arrested on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence.

12:01 p.m.: An officer contacted a woman banned from all city parks at the pickleball courts, 870 E. Montezuma Ave. She was cited for trespassing.

7:34 p.m.: Officers pursued a speeding vehicle that fled near 7006 Highway 160. Both the female driver and male passenger ran from the crashed vehicle. The woman was found to be a suspect for theft of a firearm. She was arrested on suspicion of speeding, driving without a license, felony eluding, resisting arrest, obstruction of a peace officer, open container and a warrant. The man was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest, obstruction of a peace officer and two warrants.

10:38 p.m.: An officer conducted a traffic stop at East Seventh Street and South Market Street for no license-plate light. A passenger dropped a baggie of suspected fentanyl and was issued a summons for possession of powdered fentanyl.

10:50 p.m.: An officer responded to South Elm Street where a man was yelling in the street. The man arrested after initially resisting arrest.

Tuesday, Dec. 9

2:45 p.m.: An officer served a warrant on a man on Road 25. The man was arrested.

Wednesday, Dec. 10

7:22 a.m.: An officer served a warrant at a residence on Mesa Verde Street. The man was arrested.

10:56 a.m.: An officer contacted a man with warrants on North Dolores Road. The man was arrested.

7:39 p.m.: An officer served a warrant on a woman at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

8:46 p.m.: An officer responded to a residence on Jennings Drive for a reported burglary in progress. The man was located nearby and arrested on a warrant.
