Wednesday, Oct. 1

9:22 a.m.: An officer responded to the Pinon Project, 210 E. Main St., for an assault. Two men allegedly fought. One was found to have three warrants, and he was arrested for the warrants and on suspicion of disturbing the peace.

4:55 p.m.: An officer responded to Lakeside Drive and Trinity Avenue for a man reportedly acting erratically. The man was found at a residence on Lakeside Drive, where he was banned. He was arrested on suspicion of trespassing.

11:39 p.m.: An officer stopped a woman at South Madison Street and East Third Street for erratic driving. The woman reportedly failed sobriety tests and was arrested on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, failing to provide proof of insurance, weaving, failure to stop as required at a stop sign and possessing open alcohol containers in a motor vehicle.

Thursday, Oct. 2

3:36 p.m.: An officer responded to a residence on Washington Street for a reported dog bite from the prior evening. The man who called said he had been bitten by a pit bull mix. The owner received a summons for keeping a vicious animal, and the dog was quarantined, as its rabies vaccination had expired.

7:35 p.m.: An officer responded to JC Pets, 24 N. Madison St., for a man drinking on private property and violating bond conditions that state he shall not possess or consume alcohol. He was arrested on suspicion of violating his bond conditions.

Friday, Oct. 3

9:47 a.m.: An officer responded to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., to serve a warrant to a woman.

12:05 p.m.: An officer responded to Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., for a theft on Sept. 13. A female employee allegedly stole a $349 iPad and was issued a summons for theft.

11:27 a.m.: An officer responded to a call at the Cortez Police Department, 608 N. Park St., about a man with a warrant. The man was arrested on suspicion of the warrant and booked into jail.

9:41 p.m.: An officer responded to Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., for a banned man sleeping inside. He issued a summons for trespassing and left the premises.

Saturday, Oct. 4

12:50 a.m.: An officer stopped a man at Broadway and McElmo Street for suspected DUI. He failed sobriety tests and was arrested on suspicion of DUI, driving a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 or more, failing to drive in a single lane, speeding 46 MPH in a posted 40 MPH zone, open container, failure to present proof of insurance and driving a vehicle without a valid license.

7:58 a.m.: An officer observed a woman near Pinon Project, 210 E. Main St., with a warrant. She was arrested for the warrants and on suspicion of violating a protection order that states she shall not possess or consume alcohol.

1:30 p.m.: An officer observed a man near Montezuma County Health Department, 106 W. North St., with a warrant. He was arrested on suspicion of the warrant.

3:25 p.m.: An officer responded to Wendy’s, 221 E. Main St., for a man seen with a firearm. He fled, but was later detained, and the firearm was found to be a BB gun. He was arrested on suspicion of weapon possession by a previous offender, protection order violation (shall not possess a weapon, simulated or non-functional firearms) and obstruction of a police officer.

8:46 p.m.: An officer responded to Denny’s, 2059 E. Main St., for a woman acting erratically. She was arrested on suspicion of two warrants.

Sunday, Oct. 5

6:51 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle at South Beech Street with a fictitious plate. The driver, with a revoked license and warrant, was arrested on suspicion of the warrant, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving on a revoked express consent restraint, displaying fictitious number plates and operating an unregistered vehicle.

Monday, Oct. 6

9:18 p.m.: An officer responded to Sleeping Ute Apartments, 516 S. Madison St., for a man allegedly violating a protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol. He was arrested on suspicion of the violation.

Tuesday, Oct. 7

1:16 p.m.: An officer responded to Quality Inn, 1120 E. Main St., for a woman causing a disturbance. She was found later at City Market, and was arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace and resisting arrest/interfering with an officer.

4:46 p.m.: An officer responded to Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St., for an altercation where a man allegedly punched a man on a bike. The first man was found to be banned from the parks, and he was arrested on suspicion of trespassing, bond violation (possessing or consuming alcohol), disturbing the peace and resisting arrest. A third man, who was also banned, was arrested for trespassing.

6:20 p.m.: An officer responded to North Washington Street for a reported assault. A woman allegedly shoved a man and his wife, causing injury to the man. She was later found at City Market after allegedly assaulting another woman. She was arrested on suspicion of assault, harassment, trespassing and bond violation (possessing or consuming alcohol).

Wednesday, Oct. 8

9:14 a.m.: An officer responded to Montezuma County Courthouse, 865 N. Park St., to serve a warrant on a man for alleged harassment involving domestic violence. He was arrested on suspicion of the warrant.

3:01 p.m.: An officer responded to Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., for a woman in custody with a warrant. She was arrested on suspicion of the warrant.

7:40 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle at Best Western, 535 E. Main St., for no headlamps. The female driver, who had a suspended license and warrant, was arrested on suspicion of the warrant.
