10:19 a.m.: An officer responded to City Market, 508 E. Main St., for reported shoplifting. A man and woman were found with alleged stolen Modelo beers in an alley behind Ocean Pearl, 300 E. Main St. The man was arrested on suspicion of theft and violation of a protection order.
10:27 a.m.: An officer responded to a residence on South Chestnut Street for barking dog complaints. The owner, contacted later, thought the dogs barked excessively due to her absence. A citation was issued for maintenance of animals that disturb the peace.
12:33 p.m.: An officer responded to Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N. Mildred Rd., for a bicycle theft reported July 30. The bike was recovered behind Big R. A man, contacted at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St., was arrested on suspicion of theft and failure to appear.
5:03 p.m.: An officer responded to Obe’s Angel Store, 317 E. Main St., for a man reportedly drinking vodka on the sidewalk. He was arrested on suspicion of open container, littering and resisting arrest.
10:22 p.m.: An officer responded to Oak Meadows Trailer Park, 405 W. Seventh St., for a verbal disturbance. A man violated three protection orders that state he must not be with the woman or have any contact. The man was arrested on suspicion of three protection order violations.
9:54 p.m.: An officer responded to America’s Auto Care, 244 E. Main St., for reported tire theft. A man and woman had tires, saying they had permission to take them. The manager said he would allow the man and woman to take the old tires just once. The man was arrested on a warrant.
10:45 p.m.: An officer stopped a semi without a trailer near North Ash Street and East Main Street for speeding 45 mph in a 25 mph zone. The driver allegedly failed sobriety tests, was arrested on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se and speeding.
6:17 a.m.: An officer responded to 45 S. Washington St. for an altercation. Two men were fighting, and one was severely injured, to the point officers thought he might be deceased upon arrival. The first man was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault and the second man, after being released after medical treatment, was arrested on a warrant.
12:04 p.m.: An officer responded to City Pool, 803 E. Montezuma Ave., for a woman reportedly disrupting a swim meet. She was trespassed from the city parks for a week, but refused to leave. She was arrested on suspicion of trespassing and was given a six-month trespass from the city parks.
9:24 p.m.: An officer responded to Happy Valley Trailer Park, 203 E. Seventh St., for a domestic disturbance. A woman said a man struck her leg, violating a protection order. The man allegedly denied it, and a witness didn’t confirm physical contact. The man was arrested for harassment, domestic violence and a protection order violation.
5:24 a.m.: An officer responded to Tawi Kaan, 560 E. Empire St., to contact a woman. The woman allegedly barricaded her apartment and threw boiling urine at officers and the property manager. After warrants were obtained, she was arrested on suspicion of assault on a peace officer, criminal attempted assault and three counts of third-degree assault.
10:37 a.m.: An officer responded to Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., to serve a warrant on a woman who turned herself in.
2:05 p.m.: An officer responded to Tomahawk Motel, 728 S. Broadway, for a reported protection order violation. A woman reported a man’s repeated contact and trespassing despite a protection order.
7:27 p.m.: An officer observed an assault at Parque de Vida, 400 N. Mildred Rd. An man severely beat another, until the officer interfered. The first man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault. Both men were transported to the hospital.
9 p.m.: An officer responded to Cozy Inn, 440 S. Broadway, for a disturbance and a reported protection order violation. Both a man and woman allegedly violated mutual orders that said they needed to stay away from each other, and the woman was in possession of alcohol, violating another order. The woman was arrested on suspicion of two protection orders violations, and the man was arrested for violation of a protection order.
11:33 a.m.: An officer observed a man at Montezuma Park, 15 W. Montezuma Ave., with a warrant and park trespass. He was also reportedly in possession of alcohol, violating a protection order. He was arrested on suspicion of a protection order violation and criminal trespass.
2:22 p.m.: An officer responded to a residence on Edith Street for a dog bite. A pit bull mix attacked a mail carrier, causing injuries to her face and arm. The dog, with prior bite history, was quarantined a the Cortez Animal Shelter. The owner received a summons for unlawful dog ownership for the attack on the mail carrier and a paramedic a few weeks prior.
10 p.m.: Officers stopped two vehicles, one at Speedway on 921 E. Main St. and another at Mildred Road, for racing. One driver received a citation for reckless driving and failure to provide proof of insurance. The other, who was allegedly intoxicated, was arrested for DUI, prohibited use of a firearm and unlawful conduct with an unserialized firearm.
7:18 a.m.: An officer responded to Four Corners Community Bank, 77 W. Main St., for an unwanted man with a warrant. The man was arrested on his warrant and on suspicion of a bond violation.
10:54 a.m.: An officer responded to Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., for a banned man who was shopping. He was issued a citation for third-degree criminal trespassing and directed to leave.
1:37 p.m.: An officer responded to Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., to serve a felony assault and strangulation warrant on a man in custody. #25001561
1:53 p.m.: An officer responded to Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., to serve warrants on a man in custody.
3:55 p.m.: An officer responded to Sleeping Ute Apartments, 516 S. Madison St., for a man disturbing others with a broomstick. He was previously banned from the location and was issued a citation for trespassing.
6:58 p.m.: An officer contacted a man at East Main Street and South Market Street with two warrants. He was arrested.
