2:29 p.m.: An officer responded to City Market, 508 E. Main St., for shoplifting. A man was issued a citation and a trespass notice.
7:43 p.m.: An officer responded to Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St., for a fight. Two men allegedly assaulted a man and a woman and then fled. The officer said he would be seeking an arrest for the first man on suspicion of third-degree assault, harassment and obstructing a police officer, and the second man for third-degree assault and obstructing a police officer.
12:56 a.m.: An officer responded to Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St., for a noise complaint. A man and woman who violated a 48-hour park trespass notice were issued citations.
9:30 a.m.: An officer arrested a woman located in the bathroom at Handy Mart, 806 S. Broadway, on four warrants.
11:25 a.m.: An officer responded to Cortez City Pool, 803 E. Main St., for a disturbance. A man who had been previously trespassed earlier in the day was arrested, issued a citation and six-month park ban.
2:36 p.m.: An officer responded to White Eagle Inn, 2110 S. Broadway, for trespassing. A man, previously banned, was found near the property and issued a citation for trespassing.
6:13 p.m.: An officer responded to Speedway, 921 E. Main St., for trespassing. A man, banned since 2021, was on the property and issue a citation for trespassing.
6:38 p.m.: An officer responded to Handy Mart, 806 S. Broadway, for domestic violence. A man allegedly repeatedly grabbed a woman’s face during a phone dispute, among other incidents, and was arrested for harassment and domestic violence.
10:42 a.m.: An officer responded to a residence on East Second Street for a reported verbal disturbance. A man was arrested on a warrant.
12:32 a.m.: An officer responded to Blondies Trophy Room, 45 E. Main St., for reports of an intoxicated woman jumping in traffic. After a few other incidents throughout the night, she was arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace.
8:43 a.m.: An officer responded to Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St., for trespassing. A man and woman, banned the previous day, were arrested. The man was arrested on suspicion of trespassing and violation of bail bond conditions. The woman was arrested on suspicion of trespassing. They were both issued a park ban for six months.
10:24 a.m.: An officer responded to Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St., for reports of a fight. A man with a warrant and ban resisted arrest and was found to have a large machete in his backpack. He was arrested on suspicion of violation of a protection order, trespassing, obstructing a peace officer and disorderly conduct.
11:16 a.m.: An officer responded to McDonald’s, 1322 E. Main St., for trespassing. A man, banned indefinitely, caused a disturbance, and was issued a citation.
7:55 p.m.: An officer responded to Sleeping Ute Apartments, 516 S. Madison St., for reports of a man sleeping outside an apartment. A man was arrested on four warrants and on suspicion of violating a protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol.
11:24 p.m.: An officer responded to South Linden Street for reports of an assault. An intoxicated man allegedly kicked a woman who he has two protection orders from. The man was arrested on suspicion of violating the protection orders.
6:55 a.m.: An officer responded to 1616 Velma St. for trespassing. A man was issued a citation for trespassing, and a woman with a warrant was arrested.
3:32 p.m.: An officer responded to Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St., for an open alcohol container. A man was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol.
6:32 p.m.: An officer responded to 60 Cactus St. to arrest a woman on a warrant. A purse search revealed suspected methamphetamine and a pipe. Along with the warrant, she was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance less than four grams, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of a protection order.
