Thursday, June 12

8:06 a.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant at Blondie’s Trophy Room, 45 E. Main St.

2:08 p.m. A man was served a warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

7:05 p.m. Officers responded to Cork and Bottle Liquor Store, 443 E. Main St., following a report about a man allegedly harassing customers. He was later found at City Market, 508 E. Main St., where he allegedly and attempting to steal a watermelon. He is banned from the location. He was later arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace, obstructing justice and trespassing.

Friday, June 13

9:37 a.m. An officer responded to Centennial Park, 800 E. Montezuma Ave., where a man was reportedly drinking alcohol. He was found with an open vodka bottle and issued a summons for possession of alcohol in the park and open container.

6:55 p.m. Officers responded to an apartment on Sligo Street for an unwanted person and a man was arrested on a warrant.

1:29 a.m. An officer responded to Denny’s, 2059 E. Main St., for a report of two individuals allegedly dining and dashing. Police located and cited a man for theft, and continue to search for a woman involved.

Saturday, June 14

1:33 p.m. An officer responded to Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., and arrested a woman on multiple warrants and for allegedly switching price tags at the store. She had been previously banned from Walmart.

2:20 p.m. Officers responded to City Market, 508 E. Main St., and arrested a man on a warrant. The man had also been previously banned from the store.

6:59 p.m. Officers responded to North Chestnut Street and West Montezuma Avenue for a report of alleged domestic violence in a moving vehicle. Police arrested a man after an eyewitness said she had seen the man hit the woman in the head multiple times while driving. The woman’s face was reportedly bruised.

10:50 p.m. An officer responded to the City of Cortez Animal Shelter, 2791 E. Main St., for a drunken driving report. A woman was arrested during a traffic stop on suspicion of DUI, failure to present proof of insurance, drove vehicle other than one with approved ignition interlock device, made left turn from the wrong place and possession of an open alcohol container in a vehicle.

Sunday, June 15

12:17 p.m. An officer responded to Aaron’s Rent A Center, 1620 E. Main St., and arrested a man on suspicion of violating a protection order that states he cannot possess or consume alcohol and for an outstanding warrant. A breathylizer test also revealed that the man’s BrAC was 0.336.

6:55 p.m. An officer responded to a residence on East Thirteenth Street for a possible break-in and arrested a woman with a warrant.

7:02 p.m. Officers responded to Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., for an alleged road rage incident involving a firearm. A man was arrested on suspicion of felony menacing, DUI, prohibited use of weapons, failure to present proof of insurance, drove vehicle other than one with approved ignition interlock device, obstructing a peace officer, driving a vehicle without a license and drinking from/possessing an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.

10:52 p.m. Officers responded to Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., for an alleged shoplifting attempt and arrested a man with a warrant.

Monday, June 16

6:24 a.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant at the Ute Coffee Shop, 17 S. Broadway.

7:27 a.m. An officer responded to Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., and arrested a man on a warrant and on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia.

11 a.m. An officer responded to the 200 block of East Third Street and arrested a man and a woman. The man was arrested on a warrant after being found in possession of a stolen bike, and the woman was arrested on suspicion of a financial device and drug paraphernalia.

Wednesday, June 18

12:18 a.m. An officer responded to Tawi Kaan Apartments, 560 E. Empire St. for a disturbance and property damage report. A woman was arrested on suspicion of harassment.
