Thursday, June 5

11:57 p.m.: At Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St., an officer responded to a 911 hang-up and found a woman crawling away from a man. She reported he had pulled a knife and punched her during an argument. Another man said it was just a fistfight. The suspect, found with blood on his arm and a knife, was arrested for assault.

Friday, June 6

1:44 a.m.: At City Market, 508 E. Main St., a man previously trespassed from the property was seen looking into car windows. He was issued a summons for trespassing and wrote an inappropriate message on the officer’s notepad.

2:06 a.m.: At Cortez Apartments, 620 E. Empire St., a woman reported her phone stolen by a man helping her move. The man later admitted to taking it and returned it. He was arrested on an unrelated warrant.

10:57 a.m.: At Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St., an officer observed three individuals with alcohol. Two were cited for possession and open container. One man was arrested on three warrants.

12:19 p.m.: At Montezuma County Jail, 730 E. Driscoll St., an officer served a man already in custody with a warrant for assault on a peace officer, child abuse, and resisting arrest.

1:07 p.m.: At Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St., a fight broke out involving three men. Two were arrested for assault and violating protection orders. One was taken to the hospital before jail.

3:36 p.m.: In the 500 block of E. Montezuma Ave., an officer observed a man violating two protection orders by being near a woman and intoxicated. He was arrested and charged.

11:24 p.m.: At Burger Boy, 400 E. Main St., an officer observed a man smoking from a pipe suspected to contain meth. The man attempted to hide and destroy the pipe. He was cited for drug paraphernalia and later for unlawful use.

Saturday, June 7

5:42 a.m.: At City Market, 508 E. Main St., a man with a warrant for contributing to the delinquency of a minor was arrested.

10:18 a.m.: At Speedway East, 2320 E. Main St., a traffic stop revealed a man had a warrant for a traffic violation. He was arrested and booked.

11:14 a.m.: At the tennis courts, 870 E. Montezuma Ave., a man with a warrant was found disoriented and was arrested.

11:18 p.m.: At Holiday Inn Express, 2121 E. Main St., a man was stopped for speeding and found to be intoxicated. He failed sobriety tests and had a BAC of 0.314. He was arrested for DUI and related charges.

Sunday, June 8

6:02 a.m.: At National 9 Inn, 301 W. Main St., a woman was arrested on a warrant after a traffic stop.

7:32 a.m.: At 223 E. Fourth St., a woman reported a verbal disturbance. A man was found with an open container and arrested on a warrant.

12:04 p.m.: At Walgreens, 1671 E. Main St., a man was arrested on a warrant. A second man was cited for drug paraphernalia.

6:30 p.m.: At Conoco, 302 W. Main St., a man previously trespassed was found locked in a bathroom with unpaid candy. He was cited for trespassing and shoplifting.

7:13 p.m.: At Duck Pond Park, 515 N. Mildred Rd., a man previously trespassed was found intoxicated with his pants down. He was cited for trespassing and taken to the hospital.

Monday, June 9

7:40 p.m.: At Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., a man was arrested on a warrant after being observed exiting a vehicle.

Tuesday, June 10

9:47 a.m.: At Rust Trailer Park, 621 N. Elm St., a woman was arrested on a La Plata County warrant.

1:17 p.m.: At Cortez Municipal Courthouse, 123 E. Roger Smith Ave., a man was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.

Wednesday, June 11

12:18 p.m.: At Cortez Police Department, 608 N. Park St., a man was arrested on a warrant after being observed during patrol.
