Thursday, Feb. 27

12:36 p.m. A man was arrested on two warrants at City Market, 508 E. Main St.

2:26 p.m. A man was arrested near the Cortez Elks Lodge, 2100 N. Dolores Road, on suspicion of DUI and failure to signal as required. An open alcoholic beverage was found in the vehicle.

3:57 p.m. Two women were issued a two-year ban from Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. One of the women was also issued a citation for theft after allegedly attempting to shoplift from the store.

4:59 p.m. A woman was issued a citation for trespassing after being located at Speedway Gas Station, 912 E. Main St., where she is banned.

Friday, Feb. 28

8:07 a.m. A man was arrested at Liquid Assets Liquor Store, 718 E. Main St., on a warrant and on suspicion of violating a protection order that states he cannot possess or consume alcohol. An empty 750 ml bottle of Taaka Vodka was found in his bag. After providing a breath sample of BRAC 0.222, he was medically cleared before being transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center.

12:50 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St., after allegedly dragging his partner through the grass and punching another woman in the face. After providing a breath sample of BRAC 0.244, he was medically cleared before being transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center.

1:49 p.m. A man was arrested on East Downey Avenue on suspicion of third-degree assault after allegedly punching another man in the face and splitting his eyebrow.

9:47 p.m. A man was arrested during a traffic stop near Plaza Laundry, 1419 E. Main St., on suspicion of DUI, driving without lights when required, driving in the center lane when prohibited and not properly using turn signals. He was released to his wife.

10:39 p.m. A man was arrested during a traffic stop on South Broadway on suspicion of DUI, failure to present evidence of insurance, prohibited use of weapons (in possession of a handgun while under the influence of alcohol), drove vehicle when license revoked, weaving, displaying expired number plates and possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Saturday, March 1

9:06 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, violating a protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol and open an alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle in the Walmart parking lot, 1835 E. Main St. Various kinds of alcohol, open and unopened, were allegedly found inside his vehicle.

9:46 a.m. A woman was arrested on a warrant at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. The woman is also banned from the store as of November 2020.

7:12 p.m. A woman was arrested on suspicion of criminal mischief and harassment at Mesa Park Apartments, 880 S. Chestnut St., after allegedly kicking and damaging a door, trying to choke her son and kicking him out of the apartment after first receiving a citation. After providing a breath sample of BRAC 0.240, she was taken for medical clearance before being transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center.

Sunday, March 2

3:12 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of trespassing after being location at the First National Bank, 2258 E. Main St., where he is banned.

3:54 p.m. A woman was arrested on a warrant at West Seventh Street and South Broadway.

9:15 p.m. A woman was arrested at Happy Valley Trailer Park, 203 E. Seventh St., on suspicion of violating a protection order that states she shall not possess or consume alcohol, third-degree criminal trespass and possession of drug paraphernalia. The woman is also banned from the home she was located in. She provided a breath sample of BRAC 0.246.

11:43 p.m. A man was arrested on West Seventh Street for obstructing an officer and resisting arrest after an alleged fight.

Monday, March 3

4:57 p.m. A man was cited for trespassing at Mesa Verde Motor Sports, 2120 S. Broadway.

6:41 p.m. A woman was arrested at the Cortez Recreation Center, 425 N. Roger Smith Ave., on suspicion of violating a protection order that states she shall not possess or consume alcohol.

Tuesday, March 4

9:11 a.m. A man was arrested on a warrant during a traffic stop for alleged speeding at East Seventh Street and South Valley Road.

10:51 a.m. A woman was served a warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

11:13 a.m. A woman was served a warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Wednesday, March 5

9:58 a.m. A woman was arrested on a warrant near the Methodist Thrift Shop, 444 E. Main St.

4:11 p.m. A woman was cited for trespassing at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., where she is banned. The store requested that the man with her be given a never-expiring ban.

9:16 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant during a traffic stop on South Chestnut Street. The woman driver was given a verbal warning for her headlight, which was not working.
