4:14 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order at 1815 Rampart St.

4:36 p.m. A woman was cited with theft at Slavens True Value Hardware, 237 W. Main St.

7:14 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of felony menacing for placing an at-risk adult in fear of serious bodily injury while wielding a blunt and heavy object and demanding to be let into the at-risk adults home. Other charges include felony criminal mischief for two broken windows and three broken windshields, and felony crimes against an at-risk adult by using intimidation to temporarily deprive an at-risk person of the use, or benefit of anything of value at 100 E. Montezuma Ave.

Thursday, April 25

9:25 a.m. A wheelchair-bound woman was arrested on a warrant and a protection order violation when an officer saw her drinking mouthwash outside the Front Row Seat, 610 E. Main St.

10 a.m. An officer documented information of a reported possible protection order violation from a friend of a woman at 1498 Acoma St. The woman said she would upload surveillance video footage of the incident, but the officer classified the case as inactive when no footage came.

10:41 a.m. A man was arrested on a warrant near Safeway, 1580 E. Main St.

1:49 p.m. An officer served a warrant to man in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

11:03 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary, aggravated robbery, felony menacing and theft at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. The man reportedly used a 13.5-inch kitchen knife to intimidate a loss-prevention employee who confronted the man for placing items in a big bag.

Friday, April 26

4:30 p.m. A man was arrested for violating a trespass order at Love On A Hanger, 34 E. Main St.

5:40 p.m. A man was cited with theft of $300 or more for taking two car batteries at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

7:47 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order against possessing or consuming alcohol outside AT&T, 215 S. Sligo St.

8:07 p.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant from San Juan County, New Mexico, at the Sleeping Ute Apartments, 516 S. Madison St.

9:43 p.m. A man was arrested on two warrants near the AT&T, 215 S. Sligo St.

11:31 p.m. A man was cited with trespassing at Handymart, 806 S. Broadway.

Saturday, April 27

11:38 a.m. Suspects reportedly took doughnuts, a large bottle of Sprite, and Mucinex totaling $26.48 from City Market, 508 E. Main St.

2:25 p.m. A woman was cited with unlawful possession of less than 4 grams of a controlled substance in the 100 block of W. Third St.

5:18 p.m. A woman was arrested under suspicion of DUI, speeding 61 mph in a 35 mph zone and issued an express consent affidavit and notice of revocation at 1300 E. Main St. Two callers reported a vehicle unable to maintain lane and speeding heading toward Cortez.

8:05 p.m. A man was arrested on a La Plata County warrant at Big R, 1319 E. Main St.

9:20 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant at 529 E. Arbecam Ave.

Sunday, April 28

4:16 a.m. A man under the age of 21 was arrested on suspicion of driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.02 to 0.05 and displaying expired number plates in the 1100 block of Jackson St.

11:45 a.m. A man reported his wallet and a Bluetti charging enhancer were missing after a vehicle break-in at 107 N. Washington St. He also reported a transaction for a credit union card was made at the Walmart, where the officer obtained surveillance footage of the transaction.

7:30 p.m. A man and woman were arrested at 406 N. Market St. after being stopped in a missing vehicle. Inside the dashboard and air vents, officers found pieces of used tinfoil, 50 blue pills with M-30 imprinted on them, Alprazolam pills, a small digital scale covered in an unknown white substance, and small baggies filled with what the officers identified as meth. The man was arrested for felony possession of controlled substances with the intent to distribute, and the woman was arrested for felony possession of controlled substances with the intent to distribute and introducing contraband in the second degree.

Sunday, April 29

1:14 a.m. A man was arrested for violating a protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcoholic beverages in the 200 block of S. Harrison St.

1:44 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of felony menacing, obstructing a peace officer, third-degree assault for spitting on a peace officer, and violating protection orders that state he may not possess or purchase a firearm or other weapon for simulating having a weapon while chasing the employees at the Quality Inn, 1120 E. Main St.

5:49 p.m. A woman was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI, open container and driving without a valid license in the parking lot of the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St.

6:54 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant and violating a protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol at the City Pool, 803 E. Montezuma Ave.

Tuesday, April 30

2:09 p.m. The owner of a dog that had escaped its yard two in consecutive weeks was cited with a dog running at large, city license required, and rabies vaccination required at the City of Cortez Animal Shelter, 2791 E. Main St.

4:56 p.m. Officers in Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St., arrested two women who were with people sitting on the west side of the pool fence that were being loud. The women had restraining orders against each other and against possessing or consuming alcohol beverages.

7:14 p.m. An officer conducting a welfare check on a woman who was reportedly intoxicated, passed out and surrounded by a group of men at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St. was arrested on a warrant.

9:34 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant after a report that people were passing around a bottle of alcohol at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St.

11:12 a.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant at the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

12:13 a.m. Two women in a family disturbance were arrested on warrants at 1324 Acoma St.

1:35 p.m. A man was served a warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

4:38 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant in the 300 block of W. Main St.

5:26 p.m. An officer responding to a domestic violence call at 1402 N. Mildred Road arrested a man on a warrant, and cited him with violating an order to stay 100 yards away from a protected person and a protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol.

Friday, April 19

12:01 a.m. An officer served a warrant to a man in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

7:31 a.m. A man was cited for trespassing at City Market, 508 E. Main St.

8:54 a.m. A man was cited for trespassing at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. The man stated that he knew he was trespassing and was just cutting across the parking lot.

12:19 p.m. A man at 2 E. Andrew Lane was arrested on suspicion of violating a trespass protection order and a protection order that states he shall not possess or purchase a firearm or other weapon.

5:05 p.m. A man was arrested under suspicion of violating a protection order at 1815 Rampart St.

8:16 p.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant at 513 S. Beech St.

Saturday, April 20

8:46 a.m. A man was arrested on a warrant at the Family Dollar, 324 S. Broadway.

1:46 p.m. A woman was cited with speeding 40 mph in a 30 mph zone, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and displaying expired number plates at Seventh Street Bridge, 1580 E. Seventh St.

4:29 p.m. A woman was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection orders against possessing or consuming alcohol and possessing or purchasing weapons, second-degree assault on a peace officer, and third-degree assault at 501 S. Madison St.

4:33 p.m. A woman was arrested on a warrant at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., after being questioned about a suspect of shoplifting who left her stolen goods in her vehicle.

10:06 p.m. A woman was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order that states she shall not possess or consume alcohol and for trespass protection order for being at a residence in the Happy Valley Trailer Park, 203 E. Seventh St.

6:57 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence at 220 N. Harrison St.

2:19 p.m. A man was arrested on two warrants at Safeway, 1580 E. Main St.

8:02 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St.

8:14 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant during an investigation of illegal dumping in the 1300 block of Mesa Verde St.

12:55 a.m. A woman was arrested on a warrant and jailed at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

11:29 a.m. A man who was turning himself in at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was arrested on a warrant.

4:23 p.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant at Speedway, 921 E. Main St.

4:54 p.m. An officer took a report for a violation of a civil protection order and his request for an arrest warrant for the violation at the Madison House, 120 S. Madison St.

6 p.m. An officer took a report for shoplifting at Choice Lumber, 525 N. Broadway.

Tuesday, April 23

10:51 a.m. A woman was arrested for violating a permanent trespass order and vehicle theft at City Market, 508 E. Main St. The woman left with an electric cart worth $3,500 that belonged to the grocery store.

4:55 p.m. An officer arrested a man at Montezuma Park, 15 W. Montezuma Ave., for violating a protection against possessing or consuming controlled substances.

7:39 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, failure to provide proof of insurance, and signal lamps and devices as required at 1500 E. Montezuma Ave.

10:33 p.m. A man was cited for trespassing at City Market, 508 E. Main St.

Wednesday, April 24

7:49 a.m. Two men were cited for trespassing for sleeping on the sidewalk at Front Row Seat, 610 E. Main St. The officer was called back to the location because one man was trying to enter the DaVita Dialysis Center, and an employee was holding the door to keep him out. The man jailed at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
