Thursday, March 7

12:55 p.m. An officer took a report for a stolen phone at Walmart, 183.5 E. Main St. The suspect was seen on surveillance video “acting sly” when he placed his phone on top of it to conceal it when he left the counter. No charges were filed because the suspect returned the phone when identified and contacted, but the officer stated in the incident report, “I observed his actions to be malicious, when he could have turned the phone into Walmart employees, and instead snuck the phone off the counter and left.”

2:32 p.m. An officer issued a summons to a woman with trespassing at City Market, 508 E. Main St.

3:31 p.m. A man was cited with trespassing at City Market, 508 E. Main St.

4:24 p.m. A man was issued a summons for trespassing at City Market, 508 E. Main St. The man had previously been contacted and cited by a different officer nearly an hour before, the man said he was hungry and wanted to buy some food.

Friday, March 8

12:37 a.m. An officer responded to the call for a man who was passed out in the drive-thru of McDonald’s, 1322 E. Main St. The man was asleep with his foot on the brake and the vehicle was still in drive, he was arrested on an warrant and issued a summons for DUI, driving without a license and open alcohol container.

10:26 a.m. An officer responded to the call of an active fight at the Sleeping Ute Apartments, 516 S. Madison St., a man was issued a summons for trespassing.

1 p.m. An officer served three warrants to a woman in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

4:13 p.m. An officer took a report for a residential fire in the 20 block of S. Elm St.

8:49 p.m. An officer responded to a report of a man and woman fighting in the roadway at 300 W. Main St. The man and woman were arrested and issued summons for suspicion of domestic violence harassment.

11:30 p.m. An officer arrested a man at the Cozy Inn, 440 S. Broadway, on suspicion of DUI, operated an uninsured motor vehicle, drove motor vehicle when license under restraint express consent, failed to drive in single lane, displayed expired number plates, and possessed open alcohol container in motor vehicle. The officer also issued and executed the express consent and affidavit with proof of service. The man was witnessed almost hitting two cars because the vehicle he was operating was swerving in the highway, not signaling, and almost hit a power pole while making an wide U-turn.

Saturday, March 9

4:03 a.m. An officer responding to a welfare check report in the 100 block of Maple St. arrested a man for violating an alcohol protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcoholic beverages.

12:46 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence at the Prairie Mesa Estates, 650 E. Second St., when a witness reported seeing a man yelling profanities at a woman and throwing a bottle in her direction was made. The man when questioned, alleged the woman was the aggressor.

Sunday, March 10

7:57 a.m. A woman was arrested on suspicion of violating an alcohol protection order in the 200 block of E. Third St.

2:45 p.m. A woman was arrested on a warrant and for suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance at the First Street Car Wash, 21 S. Harrison St.

4:37 p.m. An officer issued a 30-day trespass notice to a man at Safeway, 1580 E. Main St. A woman in the company of the man was reminded she was issued a never-expiring trespass order in August and issued a summons for trespassing.

Monday, March 11

12:57 a.m. A man was arrested for violating a six-month trespass order at the Speedway, 921 E. Main St.

3:32 p.m. An officer took a report for fraud from a woman in the 1300 block of Mesa Verde St. The woman’s debit card was being used to rent a room at the Cozy Inn and to make door dash purchases totaling out to $516.29.

Tuesday, March 12

11:06 a.m. An officer took a report for a bag of marijuana that was found by a city employee at Manaugh Elementary School, 300 E. Fourth St.

Wednesday, March 13

1:27 p.m. An officer investigated a report of a physical altercation resulting in a man receiving injuries that left him scarred at Conoco, 302 W. Main St. The reporting party claimed the incident happened on Feb. 15, the suspected party’s recollection of the alleged incident was on Feb. 1. No criminal charges were made and the investigation was closed for lack of substantial evidence.

5:29 p.m. An officer arrested a man turning himself in on two warrants at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

9:55 p.m. A woman was arrested after a Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately was aired for her vehicle description was issued to metro police officers. The reporting officers interview with the reporting party stated that, “the vehicle could not maintain a lane and was crossing entirely over into the other lane of travel, and almost appeared to be playing bumper cars with the curbs.” The woman was arrested at 400 E. Third St. and issued a summons for driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs or both, driving a vehicle without a valid license, open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, and failed to drive in a single lane. The officer also issued to her and executed the express consent and affidavit.

10:49 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of and cited with DUI, possessing an illegal weapon, and open container after a Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately was aired for his vehicle description was issued to metro police officers. The man was located, investigated and apprehended at a residence within the Seventh Street Mobile Home Park, 600 S. Washington St.
