Thursday, July 13

9:40 a.m. A woman noticed her bike was missing from the side of her shed in the 200 block of South Pine Street. The bike is valued at $500.

8:02 a.m. A woman driving in the 200 block of Silgo Street was pulled over near the West Seventh bridge for driving 40 mph in a 25 mph zone. The woman was cited with speeding and failing to provide proof of insurance. About 3 p.m., the woman was arrested by Colorado State Patrol on suspicion of DUI. During the arrest, the woman was found to have given the police officer a false name and driver’s license information. She was cited again with speeding, driving with a revoked license, driving an uninsured vehicle and criminal impersonation. The change to the summons was permitted by the district attorney’s office as the new information changed the initial charges to felony charges.

11:23 a.m. An officer served a warrant to a woman in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

2:08 p.m. A man riding a bicycle in the 300 block of South Broadway was arrested on a warrant. The man appeared to be evading the officer prior to being arrested. During the arrest, a sawed-off shotgun and a makeshift firearm was found in his possession. Both firearms were loaded, and the man had several caliber bullets he had modified to be used in the shotgun or firearm. The was cited with violating protection orders that restrict him from possessing firearms and possessing a firearm as a felon.

9:12 p.m. A woman sleeping on private property in the 100 block of North Park Street was arrested on warrant.

9:54 p.m. Emergency response workers smelled alcohol coming off a man they were treating who was the driver in a single vehicle crash in the 500 block of North Broadway. Officers collected eight blood samples from the man while he was being treated at he hospital. One of the blood samples was destroyed when the vial was dropped by the phlebotomist drawing the mans blood. The seal on the mailing kit for the blood samples had to be broken so the officer could make copies of blood kit form included with the samples.

11:35 p.m. An employee of M & Services noticed a window his tractor had been broken while in the City Market parking lot, 508 E. Main St. The window is valued at $500.

Friday, July 14

12:01 a.m. Two men in the 1000 block of East Main Street were arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order with alcohol restrictions. One of the men was served three warrants when being turned over custody of the jail.

8 a.m. An employee at City Market, 508 E. Main St., found a counterfeit bill in the cash office and turned it over to an officer.

9:57 a.m. A man in the 100 block of East Second Street was seen taking photos of his Native American neighbor’s young daughters across the street. The man was issued a trespass noticed an informed to not return to the property. When issued the notice, the man made a derogatory remark about the woman’s race in response to her reporting him. Later the woman told the officer that another family and their children had a similar interaction with man. She stated the father of that family had gone over to the mans house and demanded he delete the pictures he had taken. The woman also said she watched the man throw rocks from the road.

11:32 a.m. A man in the City Market parking lot, 508 E. Main St., was issued summons on suspicion of trespassing.

12:18 p.m. A man at City Market, 508 E. Main St., was allegedly hit in his face and neck by his neighbor. The security footage showed the first man walking with his son out of an aisle away from the second man and the second man following him. The camera system did not have a view that showed the men when the incident occurred. The case is still open at time of the report.

12:30 p.m. A woman accidentally left a $100 at the self checkout at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. A man who used the checkout after her took the bill.

7:11 p.m. A man driving in the 700 block of South Market Street was pulled over in the lower 100 block East Seventh Street for displaying expired registration. The man was cited with driving an uninsured vehicle, driving with a revoked license and displaying expired registration. The man’s vehicle was towed and the man towing the vehicle was called by the man who said he needed to grab things from the car. The tow truck driver checked the vehicle and found a baggie filled with a white crystal substance. The officer went to the tow yard and collected the baggie and found another baggie with pills in it. The crystalline substance tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine and the pills tested presumptive positive for fentanyl.

9:21 p.m. Two women were in a physical fight on the Veterans Park corner of East Main Street and North Park Street. One woman was standing over the other woman and slapping her. The first woman was arrested on suspicion of assault and trespassing.

Saturday, July 15

5:20 p.m. A man found a bicycle in a field behind his home in the 300 block of North Edith Street. The man turned the bike over to an officer.

8 p.m. A man in a parking lot in the 700 block of East Main Street was arrested on a warrant.

11:16 p.m. A woman went the Southwest Memorial Hospital for a dog bite. The woman had broke up a fight between her dogs, who were fighting over food and was consequently bit in the arm.

11:39 p.m. A woman in the 1200 block of Cottonwood Street was given her wallet by a man found it in nearby bushes. The wallet had been taken from her car about an hour earlier and was missing $600 and her debit card.

Sunday, July 16

12:14 p.m. A man sitting alongside City Market, 508 E. Main St., was arrested on two warrants and on suspicion of trespassing.

12:36 p.m. A man and woman left Denny’s, 2059 E. Main St., without paying. The meal was valued at $67.

Monday, July 17

8:46 a.m. A woman at Holiday Inn, 2121 E. Main St., noticed her vehicle had been broke into the night before. The woman employee badges had been taken as well as two sets of keys and a ring. The ring was valued at $8,000.

10:03 a.m. The night before An employee at Dollar General, 23890 Road G., did not check a $50 bill that turned out to be prop money. The bill made it all the way to Four Corners Community Bank, 77 W. Main St., before a bank employee noticed and turned it over to an officer.

4:10 p.m. A man took two cans of alcohol from Esmeralda’s Ranchito Mexican Grocery Store, 2501 E. Main St., and was found at Denny Lake Park, 27428 U.S. Highway 160. The man was issued summons on suspicion of possessing an open container, possessing alcohol in a park and shoplifting.

6:02 p.m. A woman recovered her wallet from Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., where she had left it the night before. When the wallet found it was missing $1,800.

9:54 p.m. A woman in the 1800 block of East Downey Street was arrested on a warrant. In the woman's possession was the employee badges and $8,00 ring that had been taken from a vehicle at Holiday Inn earlier in the morning.

Tuesday, July 18

12:08 a.m. A women entered her sister’s home in the 1900 block of Navajo Street and locker herself in a room. The woman was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order.

9:09 a.m. A woman at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St., was issued summons on suspicion of trespassing.

12:48 p.m. An officer served a warrant to a man in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

5:47 p.m. A man yelling at people in front of Walmart, 830 E. Main St., was arrested. During the arrest a baggie of a crystalline substance was found on the man. The man was arrested on two warrants and on suspicion of trespassing and possessing a controlled substance.

6:36 p.m. A man at Taco Bell, 1300 E. Main St., was approached by two other men who started yelling at him. One of the two men hit the first man in the face.

8:25 p.m. A woman rode off from Walmart, 830 E. Main St., on one of the stores electric scooters. When questioned by an officer the woman refused to provide her name. The woman was arrested on suspicion of theft and obstructing a peace officer.

10:54 p.m. A man driving was pulled over in the 300 block of South Broadway for expired plates and was arrested on two warrants and on suspicion of driving with a revoked license, driving an uninsured vehicle and displaying expired tags.

Wednesday, July 19

7:21 a.m. The owner of Nails by Corbie, 716 E. Main St., noticed the front glass door had been broken with an asphalt brick. Missing from the store was $600 dollars from two piggy banks, a pistol and several packages of candy.

10:17 a.m. A man walking in the 400 block of East Main Street was arrested on two warrants.

4:28 p.m. An officer served a warrant to a man in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

5:58 p.m. A man in the Walmart parking lot, 830 E. Main St., was arrested on two warrants.

7:27 p.m. A woman sleeping under a tree in the 1800 block of East Main Street was arrested on a warrant.

8:08 p.m. A man who is restrained from contact with his wife was in her driveway in the 1100 block of Barrett Street and arguing with her. The man was arrested on a warrant and on suspicion of violating a protection order.

10:56 p.m. A man tried to leave Walmart, 830 E. Main St., with a full cart of unpaid items. An employee stopped the man before he left and the man was issued summons on suspicion of theft. The total value of the unpaid items was $493.90.
