Thursday, May 18

8:33 a.m. A man sleeping in the bathroom of City Market, 508 E. Main St., was issued summons on suspicion of trespassing.

11:34 a.m. An electric scooter was found in bushes in the 1800 block of East Main Street.

1:41 p.m. Two men in a physical fight at Veteran’s Park, 830 E. Main St., were issued summons on suspicion of disturbing the peace and were trespassed from all city parks for 30 days.

6:56 p.m. Three men were yelling at each at Veteran’s Park, 830 E. Main St. One man was issued summons on suspicion of possession of alcohol in a park, another man was arrested on suspicion of possession of alcohol in a park. The last man was arrested on suspicion of trespassing and violating a protection order that has alcohol restrictions.

9:02 p.m. A man in the lower 100 block of North Harrison Street was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order that has alcohol restrictions. He was also issued summons on suspicion of domestic violence and assault.

Friday, May 19

8:13 a.m. An employee of Auto Masters, 237 N. Broadway, noticed two cars had their back windows broken out. Footage showed a man walking into the lot around 1 a.m. and throwing rocks through the windows.

2:13 p.m. A man blocking traffic in the 1400 block of East Main Street was arrested on a warrant.

2:28 p.m. A man at the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., was arrested on a warrant.

Saturday, May 20

3:50 a.m. A man in the 400 block of North Park Street was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order with alcohol restrictions.

11:40 a.m. Two men went into the employee break room at Super Splash car wash, 1640 E. Main St., and took a drawer filled with quarters and a lunch box. The lunch box contained 100 one dollar bills, hearing aids, two box cutters and a multi-tool

12:17 p.m. A woman sleeping in the bathroom of the Cortez Welcome Center, 928 E. Main St., was arrested on a failure to appear warrant.

2 p.m. A woman at Duck Pond, 515 N. Mildred Road, was arrested on a warrant and on suspicion of violating a protection order with alcohol restrictions. The woman had two phones in her purse she had taken from a man. The man did not want to pursue charges.

6:11 p.m. A man at Maverik gas station, 2421 E. Main St., threw a rock through the rear window of a truck. The woman in the driver see was hit in the shoulder with the rock and the shattered glass cut her face.

10:46 p.m. A man possibly involved in domestic violence incident was at the Cork and Bottle, 443 E. Main St. When an officer approach the man saw and ran to his truck. The man drove onto South Harrison Street and ran a red light to turn onto East Main Street. The man ran another red light to turn onto South Broadway. The man turned on Road G going West and the Montezuma County Sheriffs deployed spikes, which the man ran over. Once the tires condition became to bad for the man to continue driving, he got out of the truck and jumped off the roadway down a 10-15 foot drop. At this point officers were unable to find the man. During the chase the man swerved around vehicles and reached speed of 100 mph.

Sunday, May 21

4:21 p.m. A woman went to Best Western, 535 E. Main St., with a knife and attempted to confront an employee. The woman brought a knife but stopped by her girlfriend who is also an employee. The woman was issued summons on suspicion of harassment.

Monday, May 22

12:37 a.m. A woman at Veteran’s Park, 830 E. Main St., was yelling at a man. Three previous reports had been made for the same woman yelling at the man that night. The woman was arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace.

10:18 a.m. A real estate agent for 810 North Broadway noticed two windows had been broken. The windows appeared to have been broken by thrown rocks.

3:38 p.m. A man at Tomahawk Motel, 728 S. Broadway, was arrested on a warrant.

5:55 p.m. A woman at Seventh Street Mobile Home Park, 600 S. Washington St., entered a man’s shed and went through the things stored there. The man confronted the woman and she stated she was looking for clothes and left the shed. The woman began screaming, and the man told a neighbor to call the police. The man grabbed the woman and held her until an officer arrived. The woman was cited with trespassing.

8:25 p.m. A man at Handy Mart, 806 S. Broadway, smashed the window a truck and drove off.

9:51 p.m. A man at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St., was arrested on a warrant.

Tuesday, May 23

4:22 p.m. A man delivering oxygen tanks to a person in the lower 100 block of West Second Street was bit by a corgi on his thigh. The man did not want to pursue charges as he was inside the home and believes the dog was attempting to protect the owner.

Wednesday, May 24

2:16 a.m. A man in front of Ziggy’s Coffee Shop, 1204 E. Main St., was arrested on a warrant.

11:17 p.m. A man at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was arrested on a warrant for failure to comply.
