Thursday, March 9

9:33 a.m. A man in the parking lot of City Market, 508 E. Main St., was arrested on a warrant.

10:37 a.m. A man driving in the 600 block of East Montezuma Avenue was pulled over in the City Market parking lot, 508 E Main St., for a unreadable license plate. The man was arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, driving an uninsured vehicle, possessing an open alcohol container in a vehicle, having an illegible plate and displaying expired plates. A one gram bag of a crystal substance presumed to be meth was found on his person during the arrest.

Friday, March 10

7:52 p.m. A man playing music loudly on his back porch in the 400 block of North Market Street was cited with disturbing the peace. The man had been reported for this behavior four other times.

8:12 p.m. A man who had been barred from Tomahawk Motel, 728 S Broadway, was arrested on a warrant.

9:22 p.m. A man who allegedly drove 41 mph in a 25 mph zone in the 100 block of West Main Street was pulled over in the 700 block of South Broadway and arrested on suspicion of DUI, no proof of insurance, speeding, driving on a suspended license and careless driving.

11:08 p.m. A woman grabbed the hair of another woman at Blondie’s Trophy Room, 45 E. Main St., and the second woman turned around and ripped out the first woman’s earring. No one involved wished to press charges.

Saturday, March 11

10:37 a.m. A woman at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St., was arrested on a warrant.

2:24 p.m. A man at Tomahawk Motel, 728 S. Broadway, was arrested on suspicion of felony menacing for chasing a woman with knife. Once in custody, the man was served a warrant.

6:02 p.m. A woman noticed her purse and her husband’s wallet were missing from his truck in the 2000 block of Rolling Road. The purse contained a wallet, $400 in cash, credit and debit cards, the woman’s ID and car keys for two different vehicles. About 7 p.m., the woman’s bank cards and wallet were found strewed across the roadway in the 11100 block of Road 25.

6:43 p.m. Two women shoplifting from Big R, 1319 E. Main St., were issued trespass orders. One of the women was arrested on a Department of Corrections warrant.

8:06 p.m., A man at the Tomahawk Motel, 728 S. Broadway, was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order that restricts him from possessing or consuming alcohol.

9:18 p.m. A woman who allegedly drove 75 mph in a 45 mph zone in the 1500 block of North Dolores Road was cited on suspicion of speeding, driving with a revoked license, no proof of insurance and fictitious plates. The front and back plates belong to the car and were from two vehicles.

10:03 p.m., A man in the 800 block of South Broadway was arrested on four warrants for failure to comply. The man was accused by a woman in the area that he had shoved her to the ground and had taken her purse. Because of conflicting statements, no charges were being pursued at the time of the report.

Monday, March 13

12:39 p.m. A man walking in the 700 block of East Main Street was arrested on a warrant.

1:44 p.m. An officer served a warrant to a man in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

3:56 p.m. A woman’s debit card was taken by her daughter and used to make multiple unauthorized purchases totaling in an estimated amount of $479. These purchases included liquor store charges, money sent to the daughter’s CashApp account and money sent to a person in custody of the La Plata County Jail, 742 Turner Drive.

Tuesday, March 14

4:43 p.m. Two shipping containers at the BMX Park, 1425 E. Empire St., had their locks cut off and a bike stolen from one. The two men from the BMX club noticed the damaged locks and waited for an officer to arrive before opening the containers. The officer determined the locks had been cut off with a grinder. The bike was last accounted for on Thursday, Feb. 23, and its estimated value is $500.

7:04 p.m. Two men at the Parque de Vida amphitheater, 400 N. Mildred Road, were arrested on suspicion of assault, robbery and theft. One man was cited with violating a protection order that restricts him from possessing or consuming alcohol. A man behind the amphitheater had been approached by the men, assaulted and had his phone and wallet taken by them. The phone was recovered but the wallet could not be found.

Wednesday, March 15

6:18 a.m. A man who tried to pay for his meal at Denny’s, 2059 E. Main St., with a $100 bill labeled “For Motion Picture Use Only” was trespassed from the property.

10:53 a.m. A woman was arrested at the Southwest Medical Center, 1311 N. Mildred Road, on suspicion of damaging property and disturbing the peace. The woman had stayed overnight in a bathroom and barricaded herself in when staff tried to get her out. The woman did an estimated amount of damage totaling in $850. When staff was able to open the bathroom the woman went over to the walk-in clinic and yelled at people there. The woman made statements to the police that did not make sense and indicated she might have been having a mental health crisis.

2:49 p.m. A man’s backpack was stolen while he was in a changing room at the Methodist Thrift Shop, 444 E Main St. The backpack contained the man’s birth certificate, Social Security card, clothing and hygiene products.

1:07 p.m. An officer served a warrant to a woman in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

4:49 p.m. A man at McDonald’s, 1322 E. Main St., was arrested on suspicion of violating a condition of his bond. The man appeared intoxicated and was made to leave the lobby building. He laid down in the drive-thru. The man was cited with suspicion of trespassing.

8:50 p.m. A woman in the 500 block of South Broadway was arrested on suspicion of being intoxicated in a roadway and disturbing the peace. The woman allegedly screamed at an officer to pull out his gun when approached.
