Thursday, Sept. 22

11:57 a.m.: A woman attempted to cash a check at the First National Bank, 2258 E. Main St., that had been reported stolen in 2019. She was arrested on suspicion of criminal possession of a forged instrument and a financial device, as well as fraud by check.

10:42 a.m.: A man attempted to cash a check at the First Southwest Bank, 1510 E. Main St. The check did not have the proper signature on it, and the owner reported that they did not write that check and may be from an old missing check book. A warrant was requested for the man on suspicion of criminal possession of a forged instrument and a financial device, as well as fraud by check.

7:15 p.m.: A report was made for a verbal disturbance at the Montezuma Park, where five people seemed to be in an argument. Upon arrival one of the officers was told that the person with whom they argued had a warrant for his arrest. Officers confirmed the warrant and arrested the man.

Friday, Sept. 23

2:37 a.m.: Two people were in Centennial Park after closing, and an officers arrested a man on two active misdemeanor warrants.

7:47 a.m.: A welfare check was requested for a woman supposedly drinking gasoline. She told the officer she was just wearing it as perfume. She was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.

11:54 a.m.: A woman in the 400 block of East Arbecam found a small bag of methamphetamine and turned it over to police.

Saturday, Sept. 24

2:20 a.m.: A woman at her husband’s home in the 100 block of South Elm was arrested on suspicion of violating the protection order.

12:49 p.m. A man was arrested on two warrants in the lower 100 block of South Harrison Street.

2:49 p.m.: A woman walking in the median of the 1100 block of East Montezuma Avenue was arrested on a warrant.

3:56 p.m.: A woman in the 1200 block of Montelores Avenue was arrested on suspicion of violating a permanent protection order by being at a residence.

Sunday, Sept. 25

10:45 a.m.: A man in the 700 block of East Main Street was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order for drinking as he was seen chugging vodka in the passenger seat of a parked truck.

6:04 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 400 block of East Main Street on suspicion of obstructing a police officer for yelling at him as he poured out her bottle of open vodka into the street.

Monday, Sept. 26

8:18 a.m.: A report was made for a burglary in the lower 100 block of West Andrew Lane the night before as the homeowners had found several items missing the morning when they returned from work. The missing items include a safe containing about $4,000 in cash, handmade jewelry and a gold watch.

11:43 a.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order by drinking alcohol after he allegedly trespassed at the Beech Street Preschool, 510 N Beech St.

2:16 p.m.: A man was reported to have stolen power tools from a backyard in Oak Meadows Trailer park. After declining to speak with an officer, he was cited on suspicion of theft and trespass.

7:2 p.m.: A car chase from the 1300 block of East Main Street to the 400 block of South Broadway that reached speed up to 65 mph resulted in three arrests. One arrest was made for a warrant, one was made on suspicion of violating a protection order for drinking, and one was made on suspicion of felony eluding.

8:24 p.m.: A man was served summons for a warrant while in custody of Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Tuesday, Sept. 27

2:10 a.m.: A man seen running from a car in the lower one block of North Beech Street after an argument with the driver was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order for drinking alcohol.

10:14 a.m.: A woman was served two warrants while in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

10:57 a.m.: A man was issued summons for trespassing at the Mountain View Trailer Park, 405 W. Seventh St.

12:15 p.m.: A report was made for damaged property in the 500 block of South Madison Street as the rear window of a car seemed to have been smashed with hammer.

9:07 p.m.: A woman found lying in an alley between two sheds in the 300 block of North Linden street was arrested for a warrant.

9:42 p.m.: A man in the 800 block of South Chestnut Street was arrested on suspicion of distribution of fentanyl, tampering with physical evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wednesday, Sept. 28

10:04 a.m.: A man reported in the 100 block of West Main Street was issued summons for violating a protection order because he was restricted form the area.

10:44 a.m.: A woman in the 300 block of West Main Street was arrested for a warrant.

12:09 p.m.: A report was made in the 6400 block of East Main Street for a hit-and-run as a truck was seen backing into another and leaving the area.

3:47 p.m.: A man was served three warrants while in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center.

6:56 p.m.: A man was issued summons for trespassing per the pastor of St. Margaret Mary’s request.

8:19 p.m.: A man in the 2200 block of East Main Street was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order for possessing and drinking alcohol.
